After blazing through it on easy I figured I'd go straight to heroic, and man is it hard! I just barely made it through Truth and Reconciliation. The first half is easy but inside the ship's a different story. By the way this is only my second playthrough of the campaign ever. Could anybody give me some tips for this and legendary when I get to it? Halo Rules!!!

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Shoot everything with red reticle. It isnt that HARD! anymore, its challenging and fun. Never Frustrating, like Halo2 still is sometimes.

My Legendary:
Levels 1-5: Plasmarifle and Pistol and Grenades (Sniper and Rockets when possible)
Levels 1-10: Shotgun and Plasmapistol and Grenades (Rockets and Sniper when possible)
Vehicles always
Moving, recharging, not getting middle of enemies.
No problem

its not hard at all though ive met a lot of people who said it was. if all else fails on legendary play co-op and have 1 person hang back while the other charges in and dies.

Use the Assault rifle in controlled bursts. It drops opponents like potatoes.

In the Silent Cartographer, just as you make it up that first hill curing the beach attack, there'll be two Elites and jackals on the other side firing. Go ahead the right of the building with youre Marines leading the full-front assault. Flanking run.

Other than that, take it slow, aim first shoot second, and you should make it through well, Spartan!

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

ammo conservation: when you in the latter difficulty levels you can't afford to just spray and pray with your better weapons. anything with unlimited ammo (vehicles/turrets) are your best friends, use them until the field is completely clear. aim for vital areas grunt, elite and jackal aim for the head, hunter aim for the orange soft spot, and flood aim for the chest.

my personal preference, the shotty and the pistol never leave my hands for any other weapon. otherwise the AR and the pistol. not all battles need to be faught, some can be ran through rather quickly and bypassed. if you get to an area where you are overwhelmed fall back to an area where your back is covered and you can "hit and run" against small groups instead of taking on an entire assault.

practice makes better, and melee's are a saving grace.

I always keep an AR and a covenant weapon if theres hunters on the levek ill take a pistol and AR just condiser every option other than running in guns blazing, i like tto ninja as many as possible then unload 60 round of AR into there faces, also try and conserve ammo specially for weapons like the sniper rifle and the rocket launcher

Dude, try TandR on Legendary. It's the hardest thing in the world.

Simply put- use the weapon-reload glitch as often as possible; when done as so, victory is virtually guaranteed!!!!! ;-D -Charlie.

Fight hard, break bones >{o

just dont rush elites and you'll be fine.

the only hard levels are the flood ones and those are just annoying because a ton of flood just gang up on you (plus half of them have rockets on legendary) and they dont play defense, just offense...

plasma weapons are good against covies and human weapons are good against the flood. jackals you can just beat down and when you see grunts sleeping dont shoot, quietly beat them down. if a hunter charges you you can jump over them and if they do hit you you fly really high :)
on the levels you see flood fighting covies, you can either run past them or wait until one side has killed the others. also dont waste sniping ammo on flood, it doesnt kill them.

Hard? Not that hard.. I just did The Maw on Legendary, I did every level on every difficulty.

Tips:

-If a flood seems to 'die' fast, melee their body, if they get back up, shoot them.
-Never, EVER, underestimate and enemy. Grunts in packs can cuase heavy damage.
-Plasma Pistol charges can kill Sentinals in 1 hit I think.
-Plasma weapons are excellent at taking down shields, use that as an advantage.
-If a Zealot ( gold elite ) is charging at you, PP charge them, then headshot with sniper/pistol, needler them, or stick them ( on the last one, make sure you run to a safe spot )
-Gold elites with swords can one hit you, beaware!
-Black elites can throw grenades, and have pretty good aiming, never stand still!
-On levels with Flood vs Covenant, let them fight, then kill the last remaining, kill ones who go after you
-On AOTCR, blow up the Wraith ( alien tank ), or else it'll follow you into the next area, can cause massive chaos, I died by this a LOT.
-Always be as stealthy as possible, grenade flood, hit Covenant in the back, don't go in open
-Never run into the middle of a battle.
-Never try to be Sam Fisher.. It can result in death..

Hope I helped some. Good luck.

What is this weapon reload glitch? Never heard of it...

I beat this game on all difficulties, it was fun, lots of fun with a few spots that you can fret over, but just take your time and hide when your shield goes down, I can't count how many times I died because I overestimated my shields and health bars...

I'm doing that right now. Freaking Captain Keyes. Why can't I just knock him out and drag him along with me?

Hit the reload button twice, then switch to your other weapon. (X, X, Y) After a few seconds, switch back to your other weapon and you'll have a reloaded magazine.

Try playing it on Legendary first...before playing it at all. That's hard.

Yes it is. I'm going back through Halo: CE and Halo 2 campaigns on Legendary before Halo 3 is released and I have to say it quite a different experience playing on that high of a level. I've played Heroic on both and never had any significant problems. But, man, I'm on T and R in Halo: CE and it's giving me a fit.

It is very hard, that level. I can make it to the grav lift without dying, but when I get up, I always get pwnt by the 1-5 Sword-wielding Zealots. Hiding does not work, cuz they spawn behind me.

I died quite a few times at the grav lift and the first encounter once you board the vessel. If the marines that accompany you in those sections stayed alive, I don't think it would be as tough.

Use AR/plasma rifle/plasma pistol in the first few levels. Ar and sniper rifle in T&R. AR/plasma rifle with pistol/rockets (I recommend pistol because of the loads of jackals) in silent cartographer, shotty and pistol for all the flood missions. Except Two betrayals where you can use a needler if you want and a sniper rifle. (sniper rifle for only a VERY SHORY TIME aka first part. Sorry for bad grammar, it's night time here for me. Oh, also check HighSpeedHalo.net for the best halo runs ever. Study the runs carefully and use the player's strategy.

Yes the gap between easy and legendary is big, And I like that :P
Ok onto the tips.
I find the Needler very usefull in Legendary, especially against elites. It doesnt need a lot of shots and the homing projecticles allow you to spray (so you dont have to leave you're cover fully) On easy the needler just sucks, it is a somewhat slow weapong. It just does not kill fast enough for that.

Also the nOOb combo can be quite usefull. Plasma pistol/human pistol. Take shields down with the plasma and kill them with the pistol.

Make effective use of grenades. Try to lob them into groups. Note: Jackals vs human grenades = WIN :D (fail for jacaksl heh)

Dont try rambo. on legendary it just doesnt work that well. Try to lure an elite out of cover (or away from the group) and take them down, dont let enemies flank you or overwhelm you. Take you're distance, If you get caucht in the middle you are done for.

Give you're shields time to recharche, The plasma rifles from elites is killing, dont let it eat away you're health, WAIT FOR THE SHIELDS :P

Always try to get marines with sniper rifles in youre hog side seat. They rock. Oh and never leave an vehicle behind, use them.

In the later levels you will find groups fighting with eachother. Make use of that and run you're way trough or stay back and kill the leftovers.

That where some general tips, here is my favorite list of weapons for legendary

-Shotgun (it kills at close/medium range) (comine with pistol or plasmarifle) This if you are the type that likes to run into fights.
-PLasma pistol (combine with pistol or assault rifle altough not the best ever I guess
-Needler (combine with pistol this you like to take some safe distance)

Snipe and rocket speaks for itself, take it.

Take care

I agree, it is hard, but I played through on normal first to build strategies that worked. Thing about normal, you can't always blaze through and melee everyone to death. The library sucks, it's very repetitive and your mind will be numb by the end of it on legendary. Just keep savin that last grenade so that you aren't like, "Aw -blam!-! One grenade could kill every enemy without them seeing me!"

I don't think you should get sniper and rockets together. Combo one with something else because if you don't your ammo won't last very long.
