Freedom of Speech does not equal "Freedom from Consequences when one speaks".
It is a right, and all rights have responsibilities associated with them. Ignore the responsibility, and you tend to lose the right.
Recon Number 54
Last night decided I was getting a little bored with the shenanigans going on in Team Slayer, and went to Team Skirmish, which I haven't played in several months. I haven't played since the reset, so I started as a 1. I thought it'd take a few games to raise my rank to the point where the matches would get more difficult. WRONG!! Played a total of 17 games, and only won 6. This is the sort of ratio I expect when I'm playing slayer with a rank between 16 and 20 and playing alone -- that I'll win about one match in three. (Before I have to listen to some of you telling me I stink with that sort of ratio of wins/losses, I'm handicapped with a marginal broadband connection.)
As in slayer, I get matched up with other singles and doubles against organized teams. I checked ranks after each game, and the ranks of the members of the opposing teams are in the high teens and twenties. Hasn't enough time passed since the reset to work these players through? In at least a couple of the games, everyone on my team quit because things were so unevenly matched. I kept playing like I usually do, but it was, of course, hopeless.
Not only that, but those same teams were button-glitching like crazy, just like in the slayer games I've been experiencing. Why? I feel bad for the players just getting started. They can't even find a beginner's match with others like them.
I'm wondering if maybe Bungie did this rank reset so close to the release of Halo 3 as a strategy to identify as many rank-manipulators as possible with the Banhammer, in an effort to clean house.
