Hey I recently bought halo 2, but their are major flaws in the game. Throwing gernade is tweaked and I wish there were more open levels to rome around in vehicles. Plus I hated that the fuel rod gun was not in halo 2 multiplayer, while in the computer version it is. I find that halo was a better game, but not the xbox version. The PC verision sound so awesome and I plan I getting it. I'm just wondering though is there a device that allows you to hook up an xbox controller to play on halo PC because I like the mouse and keyboard, but the controller I like the feel better. And what would be the best video card to handle halo 2 if im willing to spend the maximum of $200?

umm it is possible to get a xbox-to-usb adapter for a controller, but you'll find it a lot easier and more precise to use mouse and keyboard.

also to play Halo you'll need anything above nVidia 5600 or ATi 9600. they should cost less than $200, but so would a 9800 pro which totally kicks both their asses.

yup that card should even run games like Half-Life 2 and other new ones, assuming you have good cpu and ram.

Heyyo,

Err... TRUST me on this, Halo2's better for removing the fuel rod, it's a horrible addon to Halo, ruins MP I say. The gun's like a rapid fire genade launcher, minus the small ammo limit... all n00bs just whore to this gun, cause that's all they can kill with.... the flamethrower's cool though, it's not cheap due to distance limitations.

HaloPC's definately fun, if you get into a clan or find some dudes who use a voice chat program like Teamspeak the enjoyment can double right off the bat. ;)

HaloPC definately needs a strong videocard to get going smoothly. I suggest the 1st thing you do once you start up HaloPC is to go into your video options, and change the framerate from 30 F/S to vsync, or no vsync. I suggest vsync, cause then you don't get screen tearing, just increase your monitors refresh rate if you want higher frames...

I suggest avoiding the NV FX5600, I had it, ran HaloPC like CRAP, sold it, bought a ATI Radeon 9600 PRO, and am thankful I did so. I suggest you just buy the 9600PRO and avoid Nvidia alltogether for when it comes to HaloPC. One would think I'd be Nvidia optimized cause the xbox's gpu is by Nvidia, but nope, this game's an even playing field, and ATI takes the win by better cards. ;)

If you do get a ATI Radeon 9600 PRO, I find the Catalyst v4.5 drivers work best for HaloPC... the new ones seem to not work soo good, I get massive frame drops on them...

Oh, the 9800 PRO? now THAT'S a great videocard, if you can get that? all games you play will look great, and you'll always have a smile on your face when playing a game cause of how stable it is. :)
