Wouldnt it be fun to throw a smoke or some tear gas like grenades to flush out the enemy? The covies run out blind coughing dizzy and you just blast the hell outa them before they have time react?

the only issue is how they would place smoke grenades and all these other new features on the controls.

Truth is no, no it isn't and adding all that stuff would take something away from the game.

i don't think the addition of smoke grenades would be a bad idea at all. this is something that can actually be used to counter enemy snipers. after all, you can't hit what you can't see. unless you're really lucky. but for the story it would be cool too. imagine signalling for extraction by tossing a couple cans into a clearing. and if you choose a bad location, your ride home gets fragged.

Then in the E3 2003 8 minute movie when he gets the sub-machine guns what on Earth did the marine throw? It blew up with some light and Master Chief Leaned around the corner again and their grunts and jackels were spining in circles. Tell me WHAT WAS THAT!!!??! And the way MC leaned around the corner was cool I hope they keep that.

That was a frag, it was just a bunch of smoke from the explosion, cause the idiot marine didn't throw it far enough. I would definitely NOT want to see smoke grenades in Halo 2. It would make the game too damn easy first of all, and second, it's not Halo-like. Halo is a game where you kill or be killed, not smoke a few of them towards you and then take them out when they're not paying attention. If you can't take on the Covenant head on, you shouldn't play Halo. No offense, but that's the only way to win, pure head-on, in-your-face tactics.

Tell that to the hords of Flood on legendary in the library. In-your-face tactics are good but not always the best. But I respect your view on the matter and say MORE POWER TO YOU. But I still wish they hade some sort of flash, bang, whatever grenade. But could be turn on or off for the people that did not like it.

the library is a joke in comparison to the last part of two betrayals on legendary. There are simpley too many choke points to get caught in for in your face tactics. 5 cloaked elites, 2 wraith tanks, 2 hunters, over a dozen standard elites ranging from blue to gold. It's more centered around using hit and run type tactics. And while i'd say the majority of the game is centered around faced paced action, being very aware of your surroundings, etc. You can't deny the overwhelming difficulty of the various choke points in the game that require a bit more strategy to get passed.

If those parts of the game didn't exsist legendary would be a complete joke. Because when you get to those parts, you need to string together a varied ammount of actions with flawless precision to quickly get to the next check point. And if you play the game like that, and you do well, i'd love to see some videos of you getting past such places with pure in your face tactics. Places like, the stairwell in the pillar of autumn, The final bridge in assault on the control room, The last place in the library that you need to hold your position at untill the monitor returns, the aformentioned final battlefield in two betrayels, and to a lesser extent the grenade tossing checkpoint in the maw.

Smokes and flash bangs are stubid for the simple reason you use these weapons to disable the people long enough so you can go in and pick which ones you want to kill there are no hostage missions in halo so why not just throw a frag and kill every one it is simple logistics throw a smoke go in kill every one with my SMG or throw a frag and save the ammo. And smokes won't save you from a sniper snipers ten to be in big open areas and no smoke grenade is going to save you in the middle of BG. Chemical weapons would be cool however such as the VX nerve gas or sering I mean I doubt the geneva code applies to the covenant or possibly napalm grenades that would spread flaming tar killing the covies slowly.

I'd debate that. Smoke grenades would be useful anytime you are indoors. It's like portable darkness. Take for example a corridor. You have an enemy down the other end with a battle rifle. You have a shotgun. You toss the grenade down the way towards him. He can't see you so he has two choices, fire blindly wasiting much of his clip or charge forwards. Either way it allows you to get close with your shotgun.
