THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Please, in the future, make all players aware of the rules of your server, should you be running one, that is all.
Maybe we'll see a Red vs. Blue video on this ;-)
But how true it is. It's understandable that servers and clans alike have their own ways and rules pertaining to certain game types. You see, I've been a flag guard all the way back to the days of LAN parties, even before the days of Halo PC. And even last night when I was in your server, Blue Team (opposite team) had not one, but two flag guards. However, if the rules of your server say nay to flag guards, then when I play in that server, I'll find a new CTF niche.
As for my weapon choice? Well, yes the Brute Shot does fire explosives, but at close range, it's about as effective as the shotgun, which seems to be the standard CTF flag guarding weapon. I use the Brute Shot mainly because it has the second most powerful melee in the game (the almighty sword being the first). As far as firepower, it seems very similar to the old Fuel Rod Gun in Halo PC. It holds roughly the same amount of ammo with a projectile that arcs. I'm still wishing, though, that they had included the actual Fuel Rod Gun in multiplayer, but one can only hope that it is in Halo 3 :-)
All and all, when I'm in your server, I'll play by your rules. After all, it's hard to resist a hardcore game of CTF on my favorite map :-)
Quick question for you, though. I noticed that in addition to the starting weapon being the SMG, the flag runner doesn't have the ability to actually drive a vehicle (only allowed in the passenger seat of the hog). Is it possible to either change the starting weapon, or give a randomly generated secondary weapon, or allow the flag runner to commandeer vehicles? I'm thinking that's why one game tends to take hours to finish. Not that your clan is to blame, but most people who play don't typically use teamwork. Just a thought. Thanks!
