I'm having freezing problems playing halo2 vista on my MBP. I have boot camp installed with Vista Home Premium. Everything else is fine just that the game will freeze like after 5min or 15min. I have a newer MBP 2.4ghz duo processor nvidia 8600GT card 160gb 5400rpm. Can anyone help me out?

I didn't think that the MacBook Pro's have 8600GTs in them.

I think I have 2gb of ram. Should I try to add more?

I think running Vista on a Apple machine is a lot slower than running Vista on "made for windows" machine. That maybe the problem.

No, I'm running a "Game for Windows" game on my MacBook Pro, with no problems at all.

Lost Planet, and Half-Life 2, and a few others. Try reinstalling the drivers.

I'd take it that your using the boot camp beta with vista? Thats great that Lost Planet and HL2 work, maybe I should try those games to see for myself. Hopefully I can find a way to get Halo2 to work better. Havent played in awhile and its kinda fun again, especially with achievements.

Yeah, to my knowledge the Old Dual-boot configuration is the only thing capable of emulating DirectX on a Mac.

Thanks Desert Fox. I'll try to reinstall the drivers when I get home from work.

Yeah, good luck, hope it works, oh and if some kid by the name of "BestPistol" comes in here, don't listen to a word he/she says.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Can you play other games without freezing?

I havent tried other games yet. I guess I was sooo excited to have Vista on my Mac that I bought Halo2 right away. I'll probably try Lost Planet and see what happens. It'll be a good test to see how the graphics and gameplay hold up.
