For some reason I can't join a party due to network problems... I first got this message last night. but before that it worked fine. What is going on?

Assign your Xbox a static IP address and put that IP in the DMZ of your router. All better.

Now, some people can join me and I can join parties that have more than one person in the party.

although there has been many solutions mentioned above, the easiest quick fix is to power cycle your modem. - turn xbox off, unplug modem/router - wait 30 seconds, plug modem in - wait for lights - plug router in - turn xbox on - problem fixed.

This doesnt only work with halo pretty much any network problem that the typical casual network user will come across.
