I personally think it is cheating to manipulate the game to get an unfair advantage. I notice "pros" use it claiming they own everyone. The truth is, if they really need to have something to help them kill someone with an unfair advantage, then they are not using skill, they are using something that bungie did not intend.

If it takes no skill to do, then if I sit in a party with you and watch you do it, will you be able to do it flawlessely?

Oh wait, no.

Exploiting a glitch=cheating. Whether you think so or not.

RIP Halo 2.

OMG, are you serious, it takes absoultely no skill to do at all, it's the ultimate noob thing in Halo 2

You've clearly never landed a successful doubleshot in your life. I've been playing this game since launch day and am a pretty decent player and I still have trouble being able to doubleshot consistently. There's a reason why the people who are the best at this game are also very good at doubleshotting; it's a skill to be mastered just like other elements of the game.

I don't consider any button glitches in this game to be cheating. Hate to be harsh, but 99.9% of the people who are against button glitching and consider it as a form of cheating are bad at this game.

I agree with this guy I think that it is a skillful exploitation of the game and is actually hard to pull off. Ive played Halo for a long time and I can only do it once in a while if I try but never under pressure.

Yes, i think it is cheating because it is. And how does it take skill to hit RRX?

Double-shooting is much more difficult than the other glitches, but it isn't difficult at all to pull off consistently if you're used to it and you use claw.

That being said, it is the only button glitch I consider unfair, because it DOES unbalance gameplay. However, it is still incredibly rare so it's not much of an issue.

Yes, I consider it cheating. Will I report anyone for it? Of course not. It takes skill to master and anyone who can do it consistently while maintaining decent gameplay could have not done it, invested more thought into strategy, and won anyway. Therefore, it still doesn't matter that much to me. Every single player I've met proficient in RRX was a good opponent and would have beaten most players who complain about it without the use of glitches.

I rly dont see how it can be called cheating because everyone can do it. its not limited to a few select people. but people say its cheating because it gives a advantage.

so does that mean heres a example on zanibar iam runnin with the flag and i make the jump in that little hole in the sea wall by camp froman. most people cant do it but i can so does that mean iam cheating becuase that is advantage. which will allow me to reach the flag score spot way fster than others.

so you ppl tell me

  • 08.05.2007 9:21 PM PDT

how do you make that jump? i always wondered

No, you wouldn't be cheating because you are not exploiting a glitch in the game.

Plus, it doesn't matter if WE consider it cheating or not. Bungie says it is cheating. End of story.

expoliting a glitch everyone glitchs at some point.

i mean if someone wants to take the time to learn to quadshot.

then let them. yes they may have a advantage but ihave still beat many ppl with out using the quad or double shot.

so i dont know waht to tell you but stop postin the same threads about a double shot. because its not going to be fixed. so jsut wait for halo 3 and stop complaining

  • 08.05.2007 9:27 PM PDT

ya I completely agree with you Beezy just because they are "cheating" and using double shot or whatever doesn't mean that you cant beat them just change how you are playing to overcome it or just stop caring so much and find another matchmade game

Technically it is cheating according to Bungie and all the posters here. But up in the advance levels of play, players don't care and double shooting is actually encouraged.

Wow so what your saying is pretty much everyone in Halo is bad bcuz not many people double shoot. What im trying to say is, if a player is so good, then they wouldn't need to utilize a button glitch such as the double shot.

No, that's not what he's saying. He's accurately stating that the vast majority of people who dislike button glitches are bad and consequently do not even encounter them often enough to -blam!- so much. I very, very rarely saw a double shot performed outside of customs, even at very high levels in playlists. How likely are casual players to see it done all the time?

They wouldn't need to, but they WILL if they can.

  • 08.05.2007 10:30 PM PDT

It is cheating. Regardless of how much "Skill" it requires. It was put in the game unintentionally and shouldn't be exploited unless everyone in the party agrees that it's acceptable to do it.

Nope. I can't be banned - I wrote the code for the site.

doubleshot is very hard to do. yes, it is rrx, but it is rrx + precise timing, or it will not work. it is a skill, although not a skill originally put into the game.

sure, bungie says that button glitching is cheating. but actions speak louder than words, and bungie does nothing to stop it. so there is no one to stop or punnish you from doing it, why dont do it?

Does it matter its not as if you thinking its cheating helps or not. I double shot sometimes as if i shot them twice and i have no sheilds no grenades and no secondary? Im going to double shot sure I may fail but it would be my only choice. In any case no i don really beleive cheating because if it was Tournaments wouldnt allow such things...

  • 08.05.2007 11:16 PM PDT

Bungie has repeatedly stated that button glitches are cheating. Are they a skill? Of course since they must be learned and practiced. Nevertheless, Bungie has repeatedly stated that button glitches are cheating.
