On AotCR I got onto the spinning rings where the pelican flys past and onto the ledges next to them. Is this a new trick or am I just slow?

That's one of the oldest tricks known. It's called MC Hamster (funny). It's posted on cheatplanet(I think). it's a great one when you first try it.

Old, but fun. If you're into staying into the Pelican, you should do the bug I'm about to tell you about. Right when the level 343 GS starts, throw a grenade and just stay in the Pelican. :P It's old, too. I don't think very many things haven't been found.

Check out HBO. They do this stuff all the time.
