ok i just bought halo 2 pc and i installed it fine. then i start it up and its fine. i get to the menu screen and the stuff in the background (like the city and the ship) are flickering wildly. then i start the campaign and some things flicker while other things do not. cheif's armor flickers, the station where you get your targeting sensors flickers and the gold covenenant they brand flickers (his armor)
i have a nvidea 8800 gts
dual core e6600
2gigs ram

if someone can help i would greatly appriciate it!

If you installed using the Tray & Play option, then uninstall and use the Customize Game Install one instead.
If you did not use the Tray & Play option then I advise you to update your drivers.

I have the same thing. It's a problem with the engine, not your specific game.

I had that issue until I installed the latest XFX drivers for the 8600GT.

You need to know what brand and model of video card you have before you start applying drivers that aren't for your system.

I didn't say you needed to know what MODEL you had as you had already stated that. I said you needed to know what BRAND you have before you apply drivers. There are several manufacturers that make the Nvidia chip 8600GTS such as EVGA, XFX, PNY, ASUS, and others.

Glad it fixed your problem.

I had this problem too but I managed to solve it.

I aint telling you though.

hahaha only kidding...

What I did to fix it was simple but I don't know if this applies to you or your TV

basically I changed in the nvidia control panel my output to 1080i and then set the TV into PC mode through the DVI source, and then in between ungraded my graphics drivers - you should probably be using the beta driver off Nvidia site which is version 163.11 - one of those things fixed it, I had a suspicion it was caused by running the game in 720p.
