You guys are WAY to quick to shoot down systems. Honestly, Ive got a Latitude D630 with a Quadro NVS 135M - thats not even a gaming card - and I can play Halo 2 at medium-high at 1440x900.

And dont even suggest a desktop if the guy has a laptop - some people cant afford both, and likewise they may need a laptop instead of a desktop for school or work.

@ OP:
Find a nice driver from LaptopVideo2Go to install instead of the dell drivers. Follow their directions or it wont work properly.

Just out of curiousity, I'm new to the laptop scene too 'n I just bought this, can you please tell me if it'll play Halo 2, at least decently?
It's a little weaker then what the poster has, I think,,,

Sony VAIO Notebook with Intel® Centrino® Duo Processor Technology
Vista Home Premium
Intel Intel® Core(TM)2 Duo Mobile
1.8 GHz (isn't it really 3.6 cuz of the duo core?, I'm a newb :))
2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT <----GT instead of original poster's GS, and that site someone posted earleir puts the GT higher up then the GS, so it's a little better? Or no?
200HDD

Please tell me if I can look forward to Halo 2 on my laptop 'n achievements or not :)
I read the system requirements 'n it says 2.0GHz but it didn't say if it's Duo or not,,, So iuno if mine will work,,, Please! I can't run that thing that tests it because it hasn't come in the mail yet. Thank you!

Based on that 'notebook chek" site, your graphics card will perform more or less the same as a 8400GS, but slightly better with the GT. With all that extra RAM, it should really help out. In regards to your processor...

When you get your computer, I suggest downloading a demo version of a game that has similar requirements to Halo 2 Vista. (too bad there's no demo for H2V). Sorry, I have to go back to work. Can someone please suggest a demo Konradak can try to test that Vaio?

good luck.

So here's what I got when I ran that test,,
Video Card

Minimum: DX9 graphics card: WDDM driver, PS 2.0/32BPP, At least nVidia 6000 or ATI x700 or above

You Have: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT () FAIL: Sorry, your video card does not meet this minimum requirement.

Video Card Features - Minimum attributes of your Video Card Video RAM: Required - 128 MB , You have - 116.0 MB

How do I have 116.0 MB? I thought my card was 256MB? I didn't even know you could have 116 0.o

Becasue its Vista only and people have heard such awful things about Vista and the game. Most of Which alot of us dont suffer with. We just suffer in player numbers.

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

The problem is people jump on the MS hating bandwagon way WAY too fast. If they just shut up, installed Vista, and tried Halo 2 Vista out, the gaming world would be a better place. But no. "It's Microsoft. According to this Sony Playstation-only gaming friend of mine, that means the product will suck ba*ls." is what most newbs tend to take up on.

I haven't tried playing this game Online yet, as soon as i get Wireless set up so i can actually GET onto the internet in my room with my Vista PC, i will. That'll be one more gamer online anyway :/

That's a lush Laptop you've got there Mr. OP! I have a Dell Laptop too, although an older model. They're awesome!

Who really cares about AA? What you need to do to make H2 Vista look better is turn bump maps on.
