Twice as many people have responded to a poll at http://Halo.Bungie.Org in the past 2 days, which asks what maps players would like to see return in Halo 2, than have signed the Halo 1.5 Petition in 2 weeks. Comparing those numbers to the 10,000 players who are online during the slowest hours of XBL H2, or the 300,000 unique players who play Halo 2 on XBL in any given 24 hours, wouldn't even be fair.
Do you really think it's worth it to Bungie and Microsoft to produce a game which probably wouldn't break the 100,000 copy barrier for at least a year, instead of working on their upcoming projects which are more commercially viable? Microsoft is known to research and test every idea conceivable a great deal, so isn't it probable that the idea of a Halo 1.5 was considered and rejected? Especially considering how Bungie answered that very question over a year ago, with a resounding no.
To answer the question, no I wouldn't pay for a copy of the original Halo on XBox Live. I played that game for 2 years, and am enjoying the change of pace.
