ok, the last 10 or so halo 2 games I've played had extremely bad lag. it was as if someone was standbying, but I was the only one experiencing it. I would be walking along and all of a sudden I'd find myself against a wall, and I would see other people walking against walls, and then all of a sudden appear somewhere else. I would hold the back button and find that I was the only one with the red bar, and everyone else was in green. I've used this same connection for a very long time, and it has never done this to me before. does anyone know what's wrong?

Turn off your Modem and/or Router for 10 minutes, go make yourself a Coffee...read the Paper...turn 'em back on. It has to be something to do with YOUR Connection.

Also if you're on Windows go to ...Network Connections and find your Connection and "Repair" it, usually fixes stuff like this for me.

I tried repairing it, but it said there was nothing wrong with the connection.

Question: Why am I lagging so bad?
Answer: You have AOL, a BT Voyager ADSL Router or your Dog thought your Ethernet cable was a chew toy.

Ok, I was only joking...maybe someone IP Flooded you...I doubt it 'cause it's illegal but some people would risk spending 10 years in Prison to win a game of Halo 2. If so just wait for a while and it'll be fine. Another thing it could be is maintenance. Maybe your ISP is doing some maintenance?

yea I also doubt it was IP flooding because I've been only playing unranked, and I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to cheat in an unranked match rofl. anyways, all my other internet connections are working fine, its just xbox live that's doing crazy things. I don't think its the ISP.

Could be your disc, if you get a scratch in the wrong place it can make it seem to be lagging...I don't know what to tell you...Move to Korea? Get a new Xbox? Wait for Halo 3? Or we can go shopping if you would like?

it's not the disc. I tried gears of war online and it did the same thing. I think I might be getting IP flooded despite only playing unranked. idk. could you tell me how to solve the problem of IP flooding? it wouldn't hurt to give it a try...

Do you have a wired or wireless connection?

Wireless can be unrelaible at times, and there could possibly be some interference.

If its wired, maybe there's an issue with the ethernet cable, try using another one.

No wai.

speedtest.net

Go there and prove that. That connection should never lag.

BTW, try wired. Get like a 50 foot ethernet or just bring your xbox near your modem.

Your router has ethernet ports right? Try using wired, and see if it makes a difference.

Also, how many things is the router connected too? Laptops, computers etc.

Worst idea ever...http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=8664824

Check the cable running to your xbox if you have one. It may be damaged. If you run wireless, then your receiver my be corrupted somehow.
