Relief will come with the launch of Halo3. Most of the button glitches will be obsolete, but I'm sure over time some will return with different button combinations.

I'm not bashing those who use them. I use some of them myself. It has become a must if you want to win melee's. I enjoyed the Halo3 Beta because a lot of the glitches, button combo's were gone. It allowed people with skill to stand out more in my opinion.

My gripes to glitches in Halo2 deal mostly with glitches I call cheap, that take no skill to do.

Sweep Sniping....very cheap! I'm really impressed that you can set your sensitivity to 7-10 and pull a trigger while dragging the reticule past a gamers head for an instant headshot. Was funny reading all the posts from people complaining it was too hard to get kills with the sniper in Halo3. I'm glad Bungie reduced the aim assist in the Beta. I hope they do not buckle under to the whiners and add more to the final product.

Double & quad shooting.....I don't use it MM because I think it is cheap. Also, double shots are easy to pull off with an original Xbox controller, harder to do with a 360. The success rate on a 360 controller is way less than original. What I do think is really cheap are gamers who use (macro...programmable controllers) to double & quad shot all the time. When they are being used they have an automatic BR. .

I don't consider the glitches cheating per say, because most everybody can do them if they practice. Most button combo's are related to a gamer who has fast hand & eye coordination. A gamer should not be punished for having that natural born ability. Choosing to use some of the glitches and combo's in MM is another story. I try not to use them unless used on me 1st. In that case it is all fair in love & war!

With all being said I eagerly await the release of halo3 as i'm sure you do too. My hopes are that Sweep Sniping, double & quad shots will be eradicated in Halo3. Then the people with true skills will get their just reward.

RIP Halo 2.

Yeah, it's merely a technique that's made easier by Halo 2's massive autoaim.

Glitch, cheat, taking advantage of network code, aim assist or whatever....It is a lame way to use a weapon intended for accuracy. When used it is just the same as off host mods in my opinion. It results in an instant headshot. I liked the way the sniper worked in the Beta. Rewarded the gamer who has always aimed and fired. I saw NO drop off in my kills with the sniper in the Beta.

RIP Halo 2.

Ummmm... no. It's just a sniping technique. It's effective.

I think he means it's...something only on Halo 2---the bullet magnetism and auto-aim make it a glitch---you know?

Freedom of Speech does not equal "Freedom from Consequences when one speaks".

It is a right, and all rights have responsibilities associated with them. Ignore the responsibility, and you tend to lose the right.
Recon Number 54

I was a little disappointed that Bungie made a small concession to glitchers in the Beta by adding the "shottie melee". Wish they hadn't...

Yeah I understand where you're coming from Rellik, but glitch is more along the lines of unintended coding that people exploit. Aim assist was intended, which is why I don't find it a glitch.........cheap yeah, but personally I don't consider it a glitch.

I'm going to be honest, I suck at sniping, I can't even sweep snipe. Personally, I credit this to the fact that I don't play snipers in the least bit, but regardless, it's not like anyone can just pick up the snipes and get 20 kills in a row because of aim assist. I'm living proof of that.

Oh, and I'm not trying to pick on you or anything, forgive me for playing devil's advocate, I just didn't feel sweep snipes were a glitch. But I'm glad it's gone from Halo 3 anyway.

This is gonna sound wierd, but I actually find sniping easier (for me) in Halo 3.......

I found it easier to snipe in the Beta. I don't know why.

It felt the same to me, but what may have made it easier for you is I felt as if the Spartan moved a little slower and did not jump as high, or change direction as quickly in the Beta as in Halo2. Anyone else sense that?
