so the other day i got the 360 update, and ever since my halo 2 hasnt worked at all. it just locks up in betwean screens.

example: i load up the game, sign into live and its still good, but then when i join a party it freezes at the please wait screen, and the music stops.

anybody know whats causing this? how to fix it maybe? or am i just shafted till Halo 3 comes out.

360's suck, plain and simple. Hope you got a warranty or you're screwed.

RIP Halo 2.

The update only added support for the wireless guitars for Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band. Any problems you are experiencing are purely coincidental.

It seems like the ring of doom.

Yo, this is happening to me too! Both my Live and my Campaign are being affected... when Live crapped out I thought it was my shakey wireless connection, so I decided to waste some time with single-player and all of a sudden I have shadows all over my screen... it's like single frames from cut scenes are outlined or burned into my HUD. I can see the "shadows" of elites and grunts... once even Tartarus just obscuring, but not completely ruining my view. It's made it near impossible to play the campaign. Quitting and resuming the level takes care of them, but only temporarily... wtf is happening?

its not the ring of doom though, this is the only game it does it to, my other xbox, and xbox 360 games work perfectly fine...

and i dont have a warranty since i bought mine from a freind that got it free in a raffle.

maybe i should just stop playing the thing completely till H3 hits shelves just to make sure i can still play it.

  • 08.08.2007 5:03 PM PDT

Same thing with me. I was playing all last week and it worked fine. I downloaded the update, now i am lagging slightly and getting dropped from games, even though my connection is perfect. Is there anyway to undo the update?? I keep getting killed again and again because of the split second lag

RIP Halo 2.

Again, any problems are strictly coincidental.

  • 08.08.2007 5:50 PM PDT

Not true. I have never laged in this way ever. It is like the system is running slow. But every other game on Live is working perfectly. It happened literally right after the update and has not stopped. The game is ruined like this

thats a problem with the backward compatibility it hapens all the time, well some of the time some glitch leaves screen burn on your screen, ussually happens to me in campaign and warlock

The update only added support for wireless guitar controllers. It did not affect the Xbox emulator in any way. Therefore any problems you are having are mere coincidence.

Are you ready? Are you ready to rock?

I'm on my 3rd Xbox 360 console after they all broke for different reasons. The first time I had a receipt and they exchanged it, but the second time I lost my receipt. I still managed to get it replaced by GameStation though by asking the shop assisstant to ring the manager who agreed to swap the console for me. I was pretty lucky though. Also I have heard if you want a new xbox 360 or if yours is breaking down in some way, just wrap it in towells and then leave it on for a day non-stop and you will get the 3 flashing red lights which microsoft have extended there warranty to 3 years for! lol.

  • 08.09.2007 2:35 AM PDT

It made a seriously worrying noise when it shut itself down, but it came on again eventually.

I haven't had a problem yet, I hope I don't get a problem anytime soon because I'd like to actually play Halo 3 on the day of release, if the worst comes to the worst I'll have to buy an elite

im never buying a video game or video game system again, nothin like shelling out 400 bucks for a game system, and a game, and a live subscription thats going to last your 2 months at the most.

i need to go vent.... *walks away grumbling*
