Ever since I updated it, it instantly went downhill. A few days ago I had to send my 360 in for hardware failure -.-

www.HaloCharts.com

Try buying a new halo 2 disc.
Or go to your HD and press Y then press X,X,LB,RB,X,X to remove all updates from halo 2 then put in the disc and update again.

Well...this is only a guess, but I think that the image gets burned on to the screen because of the lag. The 360 is notorious for messing up halo 2 games but the 360 also burns some other original games onto the screen. 360 games are totally safe though!

Wow hearing all this is making me scared, cuz I just decided to pull out my halo 2 and play on xbl with my 360. I know I had the limited warranty, but if mine happens to get the three red lights can just send it to microsoft? Cuz I don't remember buying anything extra other than the 360.

I think the 360 comes with a one year warranty. The sme thing happened on my cousins 360 and he got mad because he al ways got the three red lights. So he called the warranty agency and got a one year warranty. The ring of doom isn't caused by the Halo 2 Update but the backwards compatibility update. Why? well because my cousin doesn't have xbox live so he couldn't update his Halo 2. Also about the burned image. I posted this on some other forums but i'll do it again. The 360 requirers an emulator in order to play old games. When you play for too long the software can't keep up,a "lag" of sorts, and cant write over the visual image data quick enough therefore creating a "burned" image. Solutions? Well nothing solid yet but I have devised some ways to overcome this. 1. Play a dark map so you can't see the burned background. 2. Restart the 360 (which can be a real pain if your in the midle of a ten kill streak!) or 3. spring for an elite. Costly I know but I compare my elite to my cousins 360. He got the burned image about three times as much as I did. The cheapest solution is to get used to it. In multiplayer create strategies that overcome this. One strategy is to go grenade happy.

So I have to call the warranty agency first? Or I have my 1 year warrany on it from the time I bought it?
