no, your missing the point entirely,
1. THC thakes no skill (individually, its all on the team) Slayer takes more skill in that area because you can use the motion sensor to throw grenades, plan ambushes, and also those who CRouch are rewarded with an Assassination, while in THC you just run around and get them.
Well you haven't played Hardcore at a higher level. Trust me, I've seen what good players have to offer, and it's skill. I promise you, if you take someone bad with you in Hardcore, they'll bring you down. You have to have some degree of skill to be good in Hardcore. Namely, get 5/6 headshot kills the majority of the time, and win your one on one battles when you get them. I'm not argueing with you that Team work is undermined, because I agree with you that team work is more important, and the better TEAM will win. But to say it doesn't take skill is mistaken. If you're bad at the game, you're not going to contribute, only hold your team back.
2. As i said before, Pros can be taken down NO MATTER what, they're not God, they aren't perfect and this Means in FFA or TEAM Slayer.
In terms of FFA, yes, Pros can be taken down. FFA isn't as consistent as teams. This is why unknown players are placing really well at FFA events. But teams is different. There has yet to be a break out team of unknown people, however I'll still give that nod to 5K even though two of their players have been in the MLG scene for some time now. Anyway, there are thousands of people who go to these events, and many of them are the kids you think are going to show up and take down Final Boss but............they get knocked out third round.
Until a team of complete randoms come in and upset an establish pro team, I won't believe it can happen. It's akin to saying that there are players out there in the world who can suddenly gather a group of football players and expect to win an American Superbowl. It won't happen.
3. I merely said nerds with no lives as I have heard stories of kids who go *PRO* and gave up collage(I hope their parents are proud).
Most, if not all, of the pros are in higher education, or still in high school. To my knowledge, one player dropped out. Heck, AYB Fonzi got a $250,000 contract, and he's in college to become an Engineer. I could go on about how the others are in college/high school and balance their work and gaming. You have to at least know what they do before you can talk about them like that. Otherwise the facts aren't straight.
4. You can't really be a Pro at something that isn't a profession in the first place.
Ehh, this tends to become too much of a side debate. I'll just leave it at this- people consider it a job because you're getting paid, others don't. I consider it a job because they're on contract and whathaveyou.
5. i don't think someone should be paid for playing a video game. You should EARN your money, hell then i should be paid to take a -blam!-.
They are earning their money. They don't give a quarter million to just anyone who picks up the sticks. These guys are getting paid to entertain those who are interested in pro gaming.
Heck, I'd gladly take $250,000 for something I'm good at, wouldn't you?
