The ninjas are really cracking down already, by september 25th, all the existing idiots will be blacklisted, leaving only new idiots.

No, from what I have seen today the ninjas are nowhere near to that point.

I think they'll have to invent new and improved "shiny" buttons. Like "lock" thread and ban evryone inside of it."

What new buttons can you think up of. (they don't have to be realistic)

Covenant Cival War

Oh yeah BTW...... WHERES'S MY GIGGITY COOKIE!!!

I think they can handle it. If they can handle the people after H2, then they can continue to handle mew members.

Why don't you just give me ONE SECOND!

I think so. If not, and this place does go to hell, Achronos could choose more mods.

I think that bungie will handle it just fine. Right now there are 28 ninja's, 3 of them are not active. For now that is enough but when H3 comes out they might want to consider moving that number to 30 active ninja's. It is up the members that are here to help them out as best we can with PMs and whatnot. I think that between the ninja's and the members who know what they are doing everything will be just fine. It would also help to inform people to use the search feature and help cut down on repeat threads. That is one of the bigger problems that I see happening along with pointless spamming. Man I wish I had those pretty buttons to make idiots go away. In any case it will be interesting to see how things play out.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Either way, on topic, I imagine that it won't be too bad. The Halo 3 Beta forum was relatively harmless overall, so I don't imagine that the post-launch Halo 3 forum should be too bad with the new features we're getting. I'm sure that there will be a lot of "How do you download screenshots?"-type threads, though. C'est la vie.
I don't think that you can compare the Halo 3 Beta forum in this situation...

Halo 3 Beta -- 100,000 players, give or take a few thousand.
Halo 3 -- 8-10 million players, give or take a few million.

Remember that the Beta forum was pretty crazy... I think that we can expect worse for Halo 3.

How much worse? *shrugs* I dunno

If I remember correctly, the beta had 700,000 players.

Also, I imagine that a higher proportion of Beta players (hopefully) came onto the forums than Halo 3 players will. Logically speaking, this should be the case. Then again, expecting things to work too logically here won't get you very far. Whatever.

Don't send me group invites.

Honestly, as long as they stay contained to the Halo 3 forums, it's fine with me. I don't go in there as it is. All of the important information I get from Bungie updates or reading other gaming websites.

Once I need to go a little more in depth into the game, hopefully all the spammers and idiots will be gone and I'll actually be able to read something.

I have seen plenty of people be blacklisted harshly over the past week, although I rarely step out of the serenity of the ODST Recon forums.

Bungie listens to its fans! ^.^ | Ninja .II./ You
RCG: In ur base, steelin' ur flagz. | Watch the demo, then join the carnage!

I vote for a zero tolerance policy for any and all infractions for the week either side of the release date. Post something in the wrong forum? 2-week ban. Spam, reply to spam? 2-week ban. Spoilers? Perma'd.

It'd make it a whole lot simpler for the moderators, would benefit the users who aren't idiots, and would strike the fear of The Hammer into the populace, hopefully encouraging everyone to have a really good think before posting...

It may be harsh, but when people look back on it they'll realise it was necessary. [:

I'm serious, by the way. I really think this is the best (maybe only) way of keeping the forums under control.

Well it would depend on the infraction. If it is a brand new account they can be warned first if it is minor. Of course I will only warn once. After that they only have themselves to blame.

The Beta forum was off the chain crazy. I remember when Crackdown didn't work at first and the entire forum erupted into all kinds of hate and rage. I saw things that nobody should ever have to witness. Many people lost their lives to that forum that day. There where even reports of people killing innocent little puppies and kittens. It was a MADNESS!

Is it the Staples Easy Button b/c if it is, then I have the same button!!!!

I would also like to point out that they could help clean up the H3 forum with the zero tolerance policy from that guy. I can't even read in that forum, cuz of the muck and the murky water.

Agreed. It would keep a bunch of trouble makers from spoiling and a bunch of new members from posting spoilers and stupid questions.

There is too much hyperbole in the forums. There are often threads about X forum declining or dying. Halo 3 will be a chaotic forum, but that is no big deal. We can easily avoid the chaos by posting in other forums or in private groups.

The mods know even less than us, seeing as they're kept in cages buck naked with cold water thrown on them once an hour until they're unleashed upon the forums.

Haha, he meant that the mods do not have the luxury of avoiding forums or threads that might contain spoilers written by over-excited young folks who think that they are the first to win the game. Someone has to check them -- especially if somebody reports really bad behavior in them. :-)
