Well, in retail and food service I don't think you need much training so I'd give those a shot. Also if they have full-serve gas stations you could apply for a job there.

Or were you asking about the video game industry?

Considering this is the site of the world's best known video game company, I'd say the latter, K Mart.

You need l33t skoolingz to get into the video game industry. Especially as high-end as Bungie. Multiple university degrees and whatnot.

Well, I think that within the video game industry, you have to be able to put your money where your mouth is. I imagine that a company would much rather hire a non-formally educated, but highly respected, member of the mod community (mod like Counter-Strike, not like cheating) than someone with all kinds of degrees that can't actually do anything. Then again, it depends on they job. Designers, for example, are expected to be able to communicate very effectively. Everyone is expected to be very thorough.
If you're interested in getting into the industry, you may want to start out as a tester. If you can write bugs up well and communicate effectively, you may be able to work your way up to producer.

Long story short, read some of the articles over at Sloperama. They can point you in the right direction.

Well my dear, I think you have stepped into the area of career selection... Are there any school subjects that you particularly like? Or do you like what your parents do? What are your goals?

Don't send me group invites.

I'm too lazy to have anything else here, sorry if you are now disappointed.

You're around 13 years old? You already want a job?

Here is a little tip. Do what you want to do. Most college students end up changing their major a few times in college. You will just have to experiment. If you like games, maybe think about doing programming, graphic design, or story development. I would suggest talking to your school guidance consoler as he/she will help you find a career to look at with your skills.

Do what you want man. My whole life I wanted to be an astronaut, now I'm getting Mechanical Engineering & Math degrees, working as a co-op (intern, but treated as full time employee and i don't make coffee) for the space program, and going to be an officer in the Air Force (see: Lt Cook). Don't let people tell you what you can't do, because what you CAN do is prove them wrong. My big tip? Go to college, and get some work experience with your chosen major. It's good to decide that it sucks while you're still in school, instead of 10 years later when you're 30 and hate your job/life because you made the wrong choice.

If you like playing games I know that Gamestop and EB Games would probably hire you. You have to be atleast 16, be passionate about games, and know about them.

It is kinda hard figuring out a carrer choice when you're younger. If you haven't been exposed to alot, then it's hard to know what you like and don't like. To narrow down your choices, I'll make a short list of what you shouldn't be when you get out of school.

1. Host dog fights
2. become a kingpin in a homeless person turf war.
3. Any job where you are required to dress up like a hamburger.
4. Bill Cosby's stunt double.
5. a Fake magician
6. Some guy who jumps in front of highway traffic to collect insurance money.
7. Naked bank robber.
8. Professisonal can opener.
9. Hole digger in the desert.
10. that guy who hands out cold water to people doing bike races...

...I hope this will help you on your journey of life.

'Home is behind, The world ahead, And there are many paths to tread, Through shadow, to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight, Mist and shadow, Cloud and shade, All shall fade, All shall...Fade'

Well currently I am going to DeVry for Game and Simulation Programming and currently... I hate the programming part. <.< I am not sure if I have really learned anything with it... but there are other aspects to the program... like the Game Design part. Kinda says itself what it is. So that part I really don't mind. I get to work in 3D space right now in 3D Studio Max and that class is really fun for me. Though also in the programming class we are learning at the moment about user interface and putting code behind that. So basically we have been making small little games like 'Casino War' and right now we are making a mini 'Frogger' game. lol

But all this takes a ton of money (that I dont have) and you have to make sure it definitely is something you really really really wanna do.. cause right now I am kinda forcing myself to finish as I am not sure I really wanted to be there... It takes a lot of thinking to decide... specially if you haven't found out what you really like or what you like to do for fun in your spare time or anything like that. I think its good do kind a career that is something you like to do and something you have possibly done in your spare time and want to learn more about and go more in depth with it... to make it a career choice of yours.

Unfortunately, I haven't had that luck... and I am just going through college... hoping I can still be useful with something that I learned.. cause the programming I know I am not learning and know I probably wont be doing anything with when I get out.. =/ But luckily with the user interface and stuff... I love messing with the colors, font (size and color) and rearranging things on the screen... hehe :P So maybe... just maybe I could do something with that... lol
