If you were to be able to issue voice commands to your Marines, the possiblities of Halo goodness could quite possibly be breathtaking. Imagine if your in a room filled with unaware covenant. You tell your team to "go stealth", and immediately they begin to walk slower, or crouch/walk...Now in the same situation as your sneaking around with your marines, you SNEEZ! The Elites here you and you get a feedback commentary from your marines saying something like, " I thought we were going stealth Chief" or " Our covers blown!".. I think that this level of advaned interactivity would be humorous and rewarding, and at times damning. The replayability would increase to the point of self isolation and fasting. All i can think about is saying " I need a sniper in position " Or fire a rocket at that Turret/Tank/Elite/ peice of grass etc" What do you think? Would it upset you if Bungie yet again persponed the release date in order to impliment a revolutionary voice recognition system? But know that if Bungie is going to impliment something, their going to do it BIG, and for that i can wait. What about you impatient bastards...

If single-player supports it, then I'll go out and buy a headset. I don't have broadband, though.

Have you ever seen the game that is played by just speaking into a headset with no controller? It looks really bad and barely did what you told it to. Now i know most of you thing bungie is super leet(and they are) but there is a limit.

Actaully a game called Socom has that kind of controll over your troops. Who knows maybe Bungie already made that, rember we have only seen the tip of the ice berg when it comes to Halo 2. Rember Bungie has NO limits to there awsome forruner like power.

No... That would turn Halo into to much of a sqaud based, tactical shooter. If the first game was perfect the way it was, why add something that would so drasticly change the way it is played?

Being able to change their behavior when you're entering different situations would be ideal- more than once I've had Marines run in front of the vehicle and get run over, or alert the enemy beforehand... they're horrible when they mess up because their AI is not the best in Halo. Hopefully, Halo 2 will have that fixed.

I'll be on my own side.

Bad idea. Just make the AI better. Controlling marines would take away from shooting the enemy yourself--one of the best parts of halo. I dont know quite how to explain it--but controlling them like that would really take away from the game. Eventually they'd just become an annoying presence, following you around. Even if you left them somewhere, it's stuck in your head that they r there and THAT gets annoying.

I dont want it to become like rainbow 6 or something... what would be half decent it to beable to give them simple commands, like telling them to get into a vehicle or something like that, but nothing complex

It would be good if you could issue simple things
This would only to apply for bots in multiplayer:
Return to base
Attack base
Defend base
Get flag
Get in car
Snipe

Interestingly enough, Halo was originally meant to be a tactical squad game.

It was going to be a real time strategy game. Same difference.
