Flame Sama's Portal. Home of the anti-emo teenage writer/gamer Flame Sama, stop by and read some time.

By the way, my gamertag is really 'Flame Sama'.

This account is inactive-it's a relic of a former time for Bungie.net, back when groups were riding high prior to the release Halo 3.

Hello.

I have been trying to link my gamertag 'Flame Sama' to this account for months and have not been sucessful.
Now today, I installed the 'Halo 3 Reader' on my computer (I also uninstalled it), and some how,
the gamertag 'FlameSama1' is linked with my current account.

I've spent to past hour trying to fix this, I quit when I noticed that the wrong gamertag 'FlameSama1' is linked
to my real account, and the right gamertag 'Flame Sama' was linked to the wrong account (FlameSama666).

Any way I have to, I'll prove that 'Flame Sama' is my actual gamertag and should be linked to this account,
and that FlameSama666 is me, and that 'FlameSama1' isn't an online account.

Can the Bungie mods and admin fix this, or should I call Microsoft?

Thank you,
FlameSama1

Delete the Windows Live account 666 and the gamertag should un-link. But don't blame me if the gamertag gets deleted too.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Make a 'throw away' Windows Live ID. Then log onto 'FlameSama1' in on Xbox.com. Go here. Select 'Billing and Contact information' change the email to the throw away account. If this does not work, contact me and I will walk you through another solution, through Xbox Live. Then, log onto your 'Flame Sama' Xbox Live Gamertag on Xbox.com and do the same thing, except instead of changing the gamertag email to the throw away, change it to your current email.

Alright, what follows will be a walk through on how to change Windows Live ID's through Xbox Live. This one worked a few weeks ago for another fellow member, so you should have no problem.

Side Note: Just to be sure, to help you, from that same page, select 'Console Registration' and change your email there, as well as 'Contact Preferences' both of these may be another step that I may have left out.

Now, sign onto Xbox Live with 'FlameSama1' and press the 'Guide' Button. Then select 'Account Management', then 'Yes'. At this screen, select 'Contact Preferences', you will be prompted to enter your password, enter it. Then in the bottom right of the screen you will see and Email address. Select this and change the email to the throw away account. Repeat the following steps for 'Flame Sama', however instead of changing the email to the throw away, change it to your current email.

Subtle.

Some people are giving you some very dangerous advice. I'd be careful lest you delete your entire GT. As far as I know, you can't do anything once the GT and link is set up, other than petition Achronos (with a very good reason for wanting the change).

Don't worry atomic, as long as he does not directly go to the Windows Live ID website, it can't be deleted. Which is also a couple of the current comments. But none the less, there are ways around. My suggestions for example are thanks to the help of the Major, and is literally, the only way to 'unlink' a gamertag. ;)

Very late edit: I just re-read this, and my apologies for how cocky that may have came of to all of you. I meant no such thing by it.

you have to use the same ID for you XBOX live account as you did on here.

Easy for you to say. You didn't accidentally create 5 EXTRA windows live IDs and an extra XBL enabl;ed gamertag when you got your 360 and were trying to transfer your account. Now I have this windows live ID linked to my primary gamertag, my original Vick Jr windows live ID linked to the extra xbl account I made. And, for some reason, both windows live accounts are child accounts (even though they show my age as being over 14) and they both have parent accounts with misstyped Email addresses. I's times like this I wish i worked for microsoft. Or wish that xbox.com didn't send me to the "creat xbl account" page when it should have sent me to the " link your gamertag and windows live ID" page.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K I go to edit my contact info. The Email adress it sais when it asks me to enter the password is my secondary Email address, the same one that this windows live ID tht is linked to the xbl account has. But on the next screan were I can edit the contact info, the email adress it gives to edit is my primary email adrres which is used for my 1st (now secondary) xbl and windows live ID accounts.

P.S. If we have questions that we would like to be answered in a podcast or update, who do we give them to?

To Vick: Luke or Frank
Late Edit towards Vick: Scroll down at the 'create a gamertag' screen. You should see something along the lines of 'This is my gamertag' or 'Use another gamertag'.

Hrm, try 'recovering' the gamertag. Use all the information used on your account when it was created. Then, since you are able to go to Xbox.com, check all of the information by going here. The personal information is located in 'Contact Information', 'Billing and Account Information' as well as 'Console Registration'. This information should allow you to 'recover' the gamertag.

LOL. Me again, Vick Sr. I was going around the windows live ID sight signing in with different profiles and am too lazy to sign out of this one and back into Vick Sr.

I just spent 15 min writing a LONG complaint to Microsoft that I will send to the windows live ID help center. It explains my situation.

I have 2 xbl accounts. When I created their associated windows live ID accounts, I was 13, and put my age as such. So they were listed as child's accounts, therefor i needed to parent accounts for them to give them permissions to do things. That's 4 windows live accounts. We have 2 Email addresses and one of them was rejected because it ended in .net and apparently only companies can end with .net. So I made up 3 fake email addresses. But now I can't figure out how to give permissions ot my child accounts do do certain things like windows messenger, so I plan to delete the parent accounts and correct the windows live ID account linked to my gamertags so the aren't childs accounts and can do what they want.
