Correct me if I'm wrong but from what i under stand about the cheat "Standbying" it is duplicating losing a connection on the game so you can't move or do anything but your still there and your doing this on purpose. I have a very bad Internet connection and i lose my connection allot and i do stay in the game but i can't move or anything until i get reconnected. If that is what standbying is then how can you tell the difference between bad connections and standbying and if you can't then what are the chances of me being banned for standbying for having a bad connection? if I'm totally wrong please tell me because i don't fully understand what standbying is.

Well.. I believe standbying can have one of two effects. The first.. is you and your team and members of the other team go to blue screen. The person who is standbying will still be in the game. When he standbys. He will have a very narrow window in which he can snag a kill off of you while you are in blue screen. You will be walking into walls because you cant see what your doing. The other type I believe is where the standbyer lags the game. everyone has redbar. Something along that line. You are still in the game though. Standbying is a form of cheating and should never be used. I believe it is a bannable offense.

So me having a bad connection and losing it sometimes resulting in not being able to move for a few seconds will not get me banned? so I cannot be mistaken for standbying?

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

If your connection is poor during online play, you aren’t likely going to get banned because of it.

However, if you obtain “host” of a game and other users suffer poor gameplay resulting in your connection, that’s grounds for being banned. In your case it seems that since your bandwidth is small, you won’t receive host very often so you should be ok.

How can you tell if your the host?

hold back during the when it's coming back from blue sceen into the game. whoever doesn't have X by name = host.

I have had a discussion with a forum Mod or someone with a different color type and from what they told me, it seems like it is possible to be banned for having a bad connection - by being precieved as Standbying. however i doubt it happens. - if it does happen there probably isn't much you can do since it states that you have to have a acceptable connection in order to use Xbox live, if you don't that's not their problem.

I'm not trying to scare you or anything, and i think you would have a better chance at getting Carple Tunnel from playing too much first.

If it ever happened to me I would make some phone calls to support - talk to some managers - threaten to sell 360 and buy Ps3 and you'll probably get the account back by the end of the day.
