I use to be a store manager for Gamestop... alot of this sounds hooey.
Typically, a game literally ships the day before the release, and is done so overnight... or if it's 2 day air, it would be just 2 days, so that it's recieved the day of so that no one breaks street date. There are very few exceptions, mostly hot titles, but the retailers have to have agreements with the publishers, like in GTA VC. Very few instances the game ships out 5 or so days in advance, like Nba Street 2, which Toys R Us sold immediatly, and resulted in delayed shipment on some future product. I can see Halo 2 being sold the night before in most video game retailers, or a midnight madness thing. I definatly know that stores wont be getting it on the 4th of november, because people would be bribing employee's like crazy for an early sell, and you know a few would give in. Bungie does not want that. Take it from someone who has done a crap load of new release shipment for Gamestop, including the midnight sales. Halo will NOT be sold before afternoon on the 8th of november (depending on location and agreements..). And to be honest with you guys.... the 9th is the release date... but in many game cases, that's ALSO THE SHIP date, so many of us will not be able to play it untill the 10th. But of course, this being a severely high profile title, it may ship out on the 8th...... I'm just saying to all that beleive that guy behind the counter saying they are getting it on the 4th or whatever are just wanting the attention. They mostly want to brag to people saying that they have played it, but just can't sell it. I know, some of the tards have worked for me and told the lies. I set them straight of course because those words alone can mean termination (lying to a customer, and saying that you've played a game before date are grounds in case your wondering...)
