I was just wondering because I have a friend who played on Xbox Connect for Halo and I am interested in trying to use it. Is it the same as connecting with Xbox Live (i.e. with and Ethernet cable) or does it require another type of set-up.

same as live, however, you must have a PC/MAC on the same network with the xbox to create the xbox tunnel that emulates a local LAN game over the net. You can only use one of these kinds of software at a givin time. Xbox Connect is one, Game Spy also makes one. Both are free downloads. It is also a good idea to have the computer near where you are playing, ie a laptop is nice cause then you can chat immediatly if something is not working correctly. i must fowarm you. Playing online in this fashion has a lot of lagg and in the end is more frustrating than anything else.

Maybe I should wait for Halo 2 then.

Yeah, better idea. unless you have a full T1 connection and do all the hosting, you will just get owned cause will have so much lagg. the guys with the high speed connections that host see all the dsl and cable users running and stopping cause of the upload rate, they don't even have to be good to work your butt.
