I may be stupid, but I'm not an idiot... just call me an oxymoron.

I just made a new Xbox LIVE account on my 360, and am currently using the free 1-month Gold membership. When I try to join an playlist in Halo 2, it says I do not have the correct map to play, and it says I should download it. Whatever map pack I try to download, it says: "installation failed" after a few minutes. Then when I restart Halo 2, it says some files were damaged and that I should try to download them again. I did about 4 times, and it does the same thing every time.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Same thing is happening to me, I just bought a 360 today, there must be a problem with Bungie, we will just have to try and download the maps later.

I called Microsoft and they had no idea what was going on.

Trailer Park Boys ~ One of the best Canadian made comedies ever.

Try clearing your Xbox 360 cache. This clears your console of all game and software updates, but is known to correct problems when your Xbox is "acting up." Click here and follow the instructions, it doesn't take long to do and you'll have to re-download all the updates again.

Also, try deleting the maps off your hard drive and re-download them.

Go to the following to correct your map loading problem:
-Xbox 360 Dashboard
-Systems Tab
-Memory (Hard Drive)
-Games
-Halo2
-Select the all the Halo 2 map files and delete them.
-Start up Halo 2 and re-download them.

If these two methods don't help you, call Xbox Support, 1-800-4MY-XBOX. However, sometimes at certain periods of the day servers can be down and you won't be able to download the map pack. Wait and try again at a later time may also work.
