My friend bought this game (Halo 2), and it runs terrible on his PC. I'm planning to get Vista, and he is planning to sell it to me. However, I want to know if I will be able to reuse the serial number. He has already installed and used the game, so I want to know if it will run and all on my PC.

Thanks.

Halo 2 should install on two machines no problem, I've seen stories from loads of people on these forums saying that they've done it and that it works fine. I can testify it because I installed it on two machines, although inadvertantly, and uninstalling it from one.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

That's because you were polite and asked it the right way, with proper writing. Unlike most noobs dwelling here now.

The third installation is where it will get sticky, but then again it's not that big of a deal. You call a Microsoft rep, and tell him/her your reason for putting the key in again, and they will give you a confirmation code and it will work fine. I've done this before, told the guy the first installation had an error, the second was for my computer, and the third was a reinstallation because I had to format my computer.
