Great physics, not sure if it is the "havok" engine that's being utilized but it is by far the best I've seen in any game out to date however, there is only one problem. Master Cheif should be using a slightly different set of routines when it comes to his ragdoll effect as, he looks like an unarmored civillian being tossed around. In essence, the term "ragdoll does not apply to a cyborg let alone, a cyborg in heavy armor. It suits the Arbiter just fine however, we know that Master Cheifs armor is pretty darn heavy duty in fact...it is so heavy that he uses a "nano tech-like" system that is suppose to pre-anticipate his reactions before he does them so that it can move with him and not slow him down. I remember reading that in the instruction book for the first one I believe. Anyway, if you've watched movies like the Terminator or Robocop (yeah robocop is pretty g@y I know lol) when they get blasted against a wall or knocked back first on to the ground they do leave a mark yes, but they also have a more weighed down look that gives off a good sense of durability and weight. For instance, Master Cheif klanks/thunks onto his back on the ground and pretty much sticks there and (maybe a tad bit of a jolt or slide effect) lifts his head up maybe reaches out for a second in an attempt to get back up (to give off that tough a$$ look and he is not a quitter) but realizes he's pretty much done and drops his head back down and dies that way or, whatever enemy is nearby goes up and talks -blam!- and finishes him off while MC is clouded/disoriented. If he were to get slammed to the wall he'd more or less stick there for just a nano-sec and then slide back down and fall on his side, roll on to his chest and die that way or, try to get back up and fall back to his chest and die. Those are just some examples. It would make him look bad ass and less like a 5yr old kid in only his clothes. I also think that getting knocked down from huge blasts that don't kill you would be sweet as hell too.
Non physics related things that help establish a first person feel:
Including moves you can do while you are on your back, like shooting on your back or thrusting the plasma blade through a foes stomach or grappling of some sort if an elite/brute tries to jump on top of you to finish you off. Visor ineractions like moisture, water or flurrys, carbon scoring, would kick ass. Otherwise, Halo2 kicks ass and I'm havin fun... good job team!!
P.S. I don't doubt that a lot of these iedeas have already crossed your mind, they'll probably appear in the next installment or Halo 2.5
P.S.S. what happened to the idea of peaking around corners and putting your back up against the wall that you guys mentioned in OXM? there is still an unused D-Pad.
