Poll: Would you rebuy Halo 1 with Xbox Live Multiplay added in?  [closed]
Yes - I would rebuy it.:  87%

No - I would not rebuy it.:  13%
(20 Votes)
Total Votes: 152

First I want to say, if this is a duplicate post, I apologize. I did do a search, but I did not find any relevant results.

I know this has been said before and I have been saying it since Xbox Live launched way back when with Mech Assault.

Bungie should rework Halo 1 to be playable on Xbox Live. And when I say rework, I mean only the networking aspect. Leave the gameplay, the maps, the weapon balancing, the customization.

Halo 1 was and still is one the greatest video games, dare I say, ever? I for one would gladly rebuy a Halo 1 - Xbox Live Edition if Microsoft and Bungie would make it.

Who's with me?

Well Halo 3's multiplayer is supposed to be more like halo 1's than 2's , so no
But maybe for the campaign since i lost my original Halo

Ive been hoping the same thing man. Hang em high, sidewinder, chill out, prisoner, damnation, rat race, all very good maps and would be a blast from the past to enjoy as much as i used to.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

i've got to say no, while i love the game and it is a titan for lan party FPS games i wouldn't want it on xbl. there are far too many balance issues to be considerd and not to mention the learning curve for the game. many of the people on xbl that totally adore halo2 are not familiar or weren't very good at halo. halo2 shortened the learning curve tremendously, making it a more user friendly game. instead of having to play and play and play and get good at (such as halo) it you could just pick up a weapon combo or learn the latest ways to do button glitch combos and go about it that way. in response to this bungie, in order to make the game more xbl friendly for the masses i.e. make it profitable, would have to make changes. no one who loves halo would want any balance changes, i'm very sure of that.

let it go guys, there are far to many things for bungie to have to do in order to make this happen, and there is really no gaurentee that there will be a financial return to justify the labor of recoding the game, cause it's not just gonna be a quick re-work, they would have to re-build the game from the ground up to work on xbl.

Just wondering here; what exactly did you put in the search bar? Because someone posts a topic like this almost every other day.

I put in:

1)Halo 1 Xbox Live
2)Halo Xbox Live
3)Halo 1 Combat Evolved Xbox Live
4)Halo Combat Evolved Xbox Live

Plus a few more I cant remember...

The one and only.

I say no because there is no reason to do this.

1. It would have to be remade for the 360 which wouldnt seem right because the graphics would be the original, below todays standard graphics.
2. If it were remade with the online capabilities and thats it, then it would be nothing more than Halo: PC except with friends and voice chat.
3. It IMHO wouldnt seem right to have Halo remade and have nothing new added to it. It would be like wasting $60 on a game you already have when instead you could buy Halo 3.
4. It also probably woudnt sell very well either because it is a game everyone already has so only the hardcore Halo fans would buy it.

With all these reasons I dont see why it needs to be remade with Xbox Live and nothing else. You should also be able to play Halo on the PC because it has very low system requirements when compared to todays standards and is also only $20.

yes i would buy it. being able to play h1 on xbl will be better than sex.

  • 08.16.2007 9:47 AM PDT

Isn't the 360 essentially a PC? Why not release halo pc on xbox live arcade. Half the netcode would already be there. They just released marathon. Obviously there is some kind of interest in older bungie games.

Yeah I would, because even though I already have Combat Evolved, It would be more than awesome to play it on XBox Live

Wow, you did not just compare a console to a PC. I'm going to ignore that.

Yeah, and it sucks. Have you ever played Halo PC? Do you know what lead compensation is?

You want to compare trying to port a game that came out in 1995 to a very different one that came out in 2001?

Ok i say no because i bought halo 1 for mac. The mac and pc versions are online enabled and if you own a 360 wired controller you can dowload a driver for it and connect it via usb cable. Thats what i did and its great

p.s. the online isn't the best there is no matchmaking but you get to play on all the fun maps and more

It would be great if they did this......but do you actually think that Bungie would remake Halo 1? Or is this just a dream that will never come true?

Any way i would rebuy Halo 1 if they add multyplayer on xbox live in a heartbeat!!!!!!

TPG is garbage!

If bungie would remake halo1 that would be great. After the halo3 beta I tried playing halo2 and had to take a break from it. I sucked. Everything was to slow, and the weapons sucked. So I went back to playing halo1 and it was so much better. Plus, if bungie did remake it they would have to make it for the 360, which means it would have achievements every TRUE halo fan would have easily.

I'm thinking, even if you said no to this poll, you would buy it if it came out. Why else would you be posting on a forum for a game that is over 7 years old? The reason: this is an amazing game and has withstood the test of time (7 years for a video game is an eternity), and it would do extremely well with a "relaunch".

Bungie won't do it.

If you people want it done so bad, do it yourselves.

  • 08.28.2007 11:18 AM PDT

god

Not that I could, but there is this little thing called copyright infringment, and you have to get licensed to publish a game as well. The only way it will ever happen is if the fans can convince Bungie to do it. These threads may get some people mad, but bungie, and any bungie fan should be happy we have folks who have so much interest.

That's why you buy the rights to the game, or wait for Bungie to release it for free like they did with Marathon. That is why Freeverse could make it for the 360.

People bought Resident Evil remake.

And I think Bungie said somewhere they won't remake it.
