Just to clarify B3OWOLF, I actually meant that Bungie could not look at a game and tell the difference in a BXR and a regular melee + trigger. It is really easy to tell when you actually get BXR'd. Sorry about any confusion there.

Buttonglitches because you xploit bugs/glitches in the game to gain an unfair advantage. How? Simple. Say you're carrying a BR and you come across a good dual-wielder in close combat. Normally you would be screwed because dual-wield will win in close range, mostly. Now the same thing but you can do the buttonglitch thing. Now you win. Apart from cheap it is way more satisfying to win from a player on skill. Buttonglitches are not skill. They are not "part of the game", they weren't put in there on purpose, it's a game-engine problem. And I don't care what all those MLG dudes scream about how they are allowed to use it in MLG. Bungie has stated multiple times in the forums that it is concidered to be cheating and extreme poor sportsmanship although they can't ban you for it. On the other hand, X-box Live services CAN if you gather enough feedback for it. It's simple; when you play on X-box Live you play in their sandbox and by their rules. By creating an account you agreed with their terms of use.

WOW!.It.shows.how.good.you.are.when.you.think.weapon.glitches .dont.involve.skill!....I.bet.you.cant.doubleshot.on.your.lif e.....You.know.it.takes.skill.to.do.weapon.glitches.when.you. get.a.triple.kill.just.by.doubleshooting.people.like.me.

QFT, and also to the thread starter, superbouncing changes the game more than button glitches. i would avoid that, but if you can button glitch, then your probably at a high enough level that everyone does it. i know people -blam!- about it at level 15-19, but once you get over lets say 23 youll never hear about it cause everyone is skilled enough to do it. and yes normaly people who -blam!- about button glitches suck.

However, as there is no way to determine the difference between an BXR and a B-R w/out the animation cancelling X, there is very little that can be done about this type of cheating.

The shotgun bxr is the most commonly-used, and easy to tell someone's doing it. The shotgun fires straight up in the air.

No one would really get banned for button glitches though since barely any people report those who do it, especially if you're at a high level.

I have to smile when I read posts from people that claim that their high level somehow "proves" the legitimacy of glitching. Well, part of the reason they get to those meaningless levels is largely due to the very glitching in the first place.

I can't wait for Halo 3. I'm so tired of the nonsense that goes on now...

highlight 1: the by far most common bxr is the battle rifle.
highlight #2: if you think that button glitching takes no skill then your retarded. button glitchers are good (unless they have modded controllers.) and they deserve their ranks because it is hard as crp to button glitch and i guarentee most ppl will screw up doing them

ok, glitches are cheating, everybody cant do it, i dont really care if you sit there and practice bxr or d-shot for hours skill my ass, its pushing some buttons in a certain order, cheating was defined as munipulation of online play, glitches are munipulation plain and simple, its an unfair advantage, thats exactly why there called glitches, they werent ment to be in to game, but ppl for some reason feel the need to take advantage of these glitches in the game, glitches arnt expose to be in games, but theres always some in there, and ppl that like to ruin the game take advantage of these glitches in the game

1 is true.
2 is partiallly true. The button glitches take practice to become competent with. I cannot agree however that they deserve the rank for being able to glitch effectively. The only way to really deserve you rank is to not use any type of exploitation to get there. Don't get me wrong though, I've never come across a button glitcher that wasn't a pretty good player regardless. Maybe you should consider rewording you statement a bit though.

haha, yea it usually is the ones who cant do it, but it is manipulation, and its very unforunate that you almost have to do it to get any where in slayer, or hardcore anymore, but i mean easy solution, just stay a little bit a way from ppl who have br's its that simple, if you have dual wields, dont run at them when they havnt shot there br once and are right in front of you, you can kind of tell what there about to do, you just gotta use your head, and you can get around ppl who abuse glitches

I'm sure I could quite easily do the glitches if I chose to do so. However, that would ruin the satisfaction I get out of the game to compete, and possibly win, on an even playing field. Just because the glitching is so rampant now doesn't change how I feel, and I would never jump on the bandwagon just because everyone else is doing it, so I might as well too. That's an ethical compromise I won't make.

Players don't care at the "higher levels" because they all do it, and that's how they got there in the first place. Many of those "higher levels" have multiple accounts, because they get tired of playing at that level and losing more than they'd like. They de-level, circle-boost, etc., so they can "own" the players who largely do not glitch. I see them all the time.

You're talking about me. Look a little bit higher, and you'll see that I have more Halo experience than you EVER will have. I guarantee you I could do everything you claim to do, and more. Since you seem to place so much credence in "levels", I play alone, and have a poor broadband connection -- hence the current level 17. Anyone will tell you that playing alone in matchmaking gets you about one win in three.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Though Bungie and xbox live considers button glitches and super bounces to be cheating, they won't ban you for doing them. They let you decide if you want to leave feedback on people who use them in MM.

That being said, the bungie.net CoC and ToU forbid discussions about cheating, and advocating cheating. As this topic is now about the legitimacy of glitches, (as all of these topics quickly become in this forum) I'm locking it as it violates the CoC and the ToU.

Your question had been answered many times over OP, so this was no longer poignant anyway.
