Maybe, but a sexy and smart computer program. Princess Peach is an airhead.
And they happen to be voiced by the same actress.
If I'm a fanboy for anything, it's the PC.
Power, customization, FPSs, more games, stuff other than games, etc.
Well, Jen Taylor only does the voice of Peach in the GC Mario game...but, that's the only Mario game with a recorded voice in it...
But Peach is an airhead...she can't figure out how to NOT get captured by Bowser.
Personally, I don't really think the Mario games are as fun as everyone says they are. My favorite Mario game is Super Mario RPG for the SNES, because it was actually fun. Teaming up with Bowser to get his castle back was awesome, and Geno was the coolest Mario character ever. Too bad he hasn't been in any of the other games...
But, I used to be a Nintendo fanboy, and that was because I read Nintendo Power. It's not gaming journalism, it's friggin' Nintendo propaganda. Nintendo Power is, without a doubt, the most closed-minded, POS sorry excuse for a magazine out there. I began to break out of my Nintendo fanboy-ism when I picked up my first copy of EGM. I was amazed...so many great video games, a whole new world of awesome! Most of it was outside of Nintendo!
I used to have a 'Cube and I was really excited about its prospects...until I sold it because the only game that I actually had fun playing was Rogue Leader. I finally broke out of the box and played some other games, like MGS 2 and Halo and SOCOM, and realized that Nintendo just didn't have the stuff that was great for me. For a while, I was excited about Metriod Prime, until I played it. The lock-on feature and lack of a free look pissed me off. It's an FPS! Lock-ons are for -blam!-! Also, beating the enemies in MP didn't leave me with the same amount of gratification as taking down a squad of Elites on Legendary did. MP just required you to figure out a pattern to beat all your enemies--boring! I like having to actually have to keep constantly thinking and forming new strategies to beat my foes.
But, I am getting my hopes up for the new Zelda game...I'm going to buy a 'Cube for it. Other than that, there isn't anything else about Nintendo that I give two craps about (well...on second thought, now that I think about it, Super Smash Bros: Melee is hella fun. It's the second best party game of all time--Halo 2 takes the cake as far as awesome multiplayer frenzy/carnage is concerned). I'll take my Xbox (and hopefully in the future, a PS2) and their better games, thank you very much.
But, the biggest thing that annoys me about Nintendo fanboys is how they hate online gaming. They shun it like the plague. I'm friends with a fanboy, and then only semi-valid excuse he can give for hating online games is: "The internet should just stay on computers." That's only semi-valid because, when you basically look at it, your consoles ('specially the Xbox) are essentially computers.
The other thing that annoys me about Nintendo is how they STILL don't try to really have actual voice work done for their games. Mario, Zelda, and Metriod still just have text. The immersion and entertainment factor is so much higher with voice work...KOTOR is probably the best example of how awesome voice work makes a game that much better.
Bah, I'll shut up now. That's just my two cents on the matter.
