I think that would steal the whole concept of Halo to rappel, or do Spec-Ops style manuvers. Halo is a run and gun, shoot first, ask questions later game. That is why they took leaning and sprinting out of the game, it stole from the whole concept of the game.
Anywho, I would like to see WEAPON damage. Like if someone is sniping and hits your assault rifle, it makes a hole and jack the weapon out of your hands, rendering you weaponless. Also, weapons and ammo should be visibly worn on the backs and legs of each player, ammo and grenades should actually be taken off of a belt.
Weapons should jam in single player as scripted events, so you can actually go into some hand to hand fighting in a room, with little or no guns involved.
Space combat either on or in ships would be cool as a one time event, but not fully incorperated into the game, the game should still remain a FPS and land combat themed game.
Sometimes it makes me mad when people want features like leaning, and rolling grenades, and squad combat. Maybe for a installment that is a prequel but still in the Halo universe. A game based on the Fall of Reach would be cool to have Marine squad combat, possibly third person fighting. But for a Halo 3, the fundamentals of Halo, being a very fun and fast paced game must stay. Rainbow Six 3 is a very tactical game, but that has a price to pay: intensiveness. The more realistic games get, the slower they get.
Just my outlook on things.
