So I was playing with this guy the other day and he said the at one time he had over 25 different accounts. Im just wondering how do people get so many accounts at one time? Is there a way to just create one without paying for it? Does it have something to do with the difference between silver/gold memberships? Any help would be appreciated.

Freedom of Speech does not equal "Freedom from Consequences when one speaks".

It is a right, and all rights have responsibilities associated with them. Ignore the responsibility, and you tend to lose the right.
Recon Number 54

As a result of a questionable marketing move by M$, the game market has been absolutely flooded with three-month trial XBL memberships usually inserted in new game boxes. (I'm sure hackers have figured out how to get an account without paying for it, but it's not legal.) This is silly to me -- how many gamers would be influenced to purchase a Gold Membership as a result of a trial? Seems to me like if they wanted to be online, they'd already know about it and would do it anyway.

As I type this I'm putting on my asbestos suit...There is NO GOOD REASON to have multiple accounts, at least not one good enough to counter the abuse and manipulation that goes on as a result of multiple accounts. I won't go into the details here of what goes on, but suffice it to say that multiple accounts is largely responsible for the decline of enjoyable Halo 2 gameplay in MM. There simply is no accountability with many of the punishments for abuse, when someone can just open another account (except when there's an IP or box ban).

M$'s "official" position (I know, because I've called to complain) is that they want "family members" to each have their own account. Come on...how many "families" share an XBox, at least to the point where it's mandatory that they each have a separate account? You can only sign on with one at a time anyway...

Sorry for the rant...as you can tell, I feel strongly about this!

My xbox has 2 XBL accounts, thats mine and my brothers. They should at least limit like 3-5 per xbox.

I have 3 active accounts, and on the 360, all you need is a credit card and a unique gamertag and you can open a new account. I don't know about the whole free trial thing, but if a person is willing to pay the 50 bucks for a year, then they can sign up. Oops, I forgot that you need a unique email address for each account to link with the Windows Live ID.

Kevin's post = breath of fresh air.
Take it from this guy people, he knows what he's talking about.

Second accounts are NOT cheating:

There are key code generators out there that can still generate code for 2 month and 12 month accounts. It is very illegal though and its not something id reccomend that you do.

red riders

we have 4 accounts me my two brothers and my dad with three 360's now, but when we only had one xbox we could sign-in with four accounts at once if you all playing on the same xbox. Then we could play rank games together.
