A friend of mine just got a 360 and everytime he goes to sign onto XBL on halo 2 he gets a troubleshooter that pops up. His connection tests fine, but the message always pops up. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You could get more help if you told us with the message is. btw if the message tells you to start account management then that means that playing xbox games over the xbl is disabled. You can change that in family settings.

thats easy when he starts his 360 wait untill it signs on XBL in the dashboard and then start up halo 2 i had that problem too but i just wait until my xbox signs in on the dashboard before i start up halo 2 and that gives you a chance to look for new demos or game videos that came out also so its win win

I'm also having a problem with X-Box Live. Whenever I try to join XBL on Halo 2, the game tells me I need to update the game. When I click 'Get Update', a popup comes up from the right and says:

The VGA HD Cable does not support the PAL-50 Setting required by this game. Connect the composite connector of your cable or use an Advanced SCART or Component HD AV Cable. For more info, go to www.xbox.com/support

The thing is that I played the game in it's entirety, at least single player, and had no problems, so why is the game complaining that the cable I am using isn't compatible, even though it clearly is!

I checked the support section of the X-Box site and the only help I can get is via. their forums or by calling them up. It's too late to call them up, so I may as well make a post, but here should be better than there ... I hope!

He's on a college connection and he can connect to every other game online but halo. Bascially everytime he hits xbox live on the Halo 2 menu it brings up the troubleshooting screen and then his connection tests out fine.

Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX. They should be able to help you.

Same thing happens to me... You should try and update with the update disk.... Also, say that you want to test and then wait a little bit till u sign in and say that you dont want to test after it tells you it will sign everyone out... Always works for me :)

Try fidgeting with the parental setting. It's happened to a lot of people converting their XBL from the original Xbox to the 360.
