I dont know if this kind of thread was put in a forum before but I had to ask. Why is it that when someone betrays me, I can never boot them out the game? He or she would have to betray me 4 or 5 times before the screen reads "press X to boot player." Though when I play a MM game, I get booted for no reason, even without betraying anyone. Plus I havent even shot my allies or genaded an area with my allies in it or even talked. This gets annoying. I always thought theres an option button to boot them out if you simply dont like them. I also played a matchmaking where one of my teammates betrayed another teammate and then immediately I got booted WTF?

Also sometimes my teammates laugh real hard and start shiettalking right before they betray me as if they know they are not about to get booted. Then when someone betrayed me and the option on the my screen reads "press X to boot" they suddenly say dude im sorry, please dont boot me. How the hell do they know its there? Sometimes the screen doesnt even tell me who booted me, it just said you just been booted out the game.

Someone please explain this to me. Maybe its something obvious but I just dont know.

To be quite frank, the booting system is very confusing, especially since it needs to meet a certain amount of variables before a person can be booted.
I do not know the exact variables that need to be met, but I can speculate from what I've seen. If you shoot some one to death, it could put the option up. There are also times where you shoot the person by accident, once, and they run off and get shot to death, then the option to boot you arises. Or a person runs into a grenade because they don't know it's there and you get booted. Or they purposely jump in front of your 'hog to get the boot option, where as the game considers you taking a hostile action against another player.
These are just some of the examples, but from what I have seen, it depends on what the game considers to be "betrayal" material. Hope that helps...

In my opinion, the booting system needs a revamping. I hope they got a good amount of information about it from the beta test, it would be nice to see a new booting system.

The Flood's resident metalhead.

Me too. I got booted a lot for no reason yesterday, and sometimes it even said that "so and so has betrayed you too many times, you cannot boot player" or something... wtf?

There is a known glitch (that isn't confirmed) where betrayals can carry over from games. If you accidentally kill a teammate in one game, it can come back to haunt you as far as three or four games down the line. No one's sure exactly how it works, and it probably will never be solved, because Bungie isn't going to go into detail about how the booting system works. They don't want to tell people exactly how it functions, because if they did, people would find a way to get around it. The less people know, the better.

Maybe but I think bungie should tell us how to prevent getting booted randomly besides telling us to stop accidently shooting a teammate once and other reasons. Because its not fair for the player to get booted especially if that player cares that much about his rank. Getting booted can cost the match. I hope they do update the booting system where it is more fair and more understandable where the details are not so secret in Halo 3.

I personally think first betrayel should be a warning then second is simply your fault in a SINGLE GAME even by accident. Then resets it in the next MM.

It happens to everyone. Even the people that boot you. it happens to me, but not enough to where it's annoying or anything. usually when I get booted it's when I look at a buddy, then throw a sticky at his face. That always does me. And it's always worth it.

I guess, but I usually get booted in TS when we are winning, thats when it bothers me. I remember when our team was winning by alot and only 1 person left in the other team. Only 3 seconds left in the game. One of my teammates stuck me then the option of booting appeared, I booted him right before the match ended. Hahaha it felt good, thats the closest I'll get to revenge. Karma is a b....(not Karma from carbon, dont get confused).

Custom achievments
Double or nothing- get a double kill from the grave.
Pacifist- win a team game without damaging opposing players. (your team mates can though) and you can not die.
Ninja- get a double kill by assassinations
Traitor spree- be the driver of a warthog whos gunnar is of the opposite team and have the gunner get 5 kills (by killing your team mates)
Time for your shots: kill 10 people in a free for all match using a needled weapon ( spiker or needler)

happens to me 2 but only when i have another player playing with me on the same xbox, but almost never any other time.
