why are you, for possibly the greatest game of all time, giving away 2-3 spoilers every week? the only reason I can surmise is that your afraid that Halo 3 isn't anywhere near as good as you want it to be, and you are hyping it as much as possible so more people buy it. if thats not the case you guys must simply be idiots then. we don't need any more -blam!- information on Halo 3, its little over a month from release and thus we need to know nothing more.
Did you release a torrent of Campaign info and screen shot's of Halo 2 a month before release? no. so why do it now? it is illogical. The E3 trailer was bad enough, and now another Campaign Screen shot? and encase you're wondering why the E3 trailer did more bad then good, you confirmed stuff we didn't need to know. example, Arbiter and Chief working together. Awe striking explosion when that Scarab goes up in flames. and numerous moments that would have best been experienced in our own living room, not our computer screen's months before we get to play it.
Now, say you didn't release these spoilers that do nothing but hurt Halo 3's game play. when a player gets to the battle with the Scarab, they would have been sitting in front of their T.V with their jaw on the floor in amazement as the rockets deformed and blew craters out of the Scarabs Armour. now, all we are going to get is "Hmm, looks exactly like I saw it in that trailer, cool" as opposed to the above. the same with the pelican's coming out of the Covenant Cruiser, had no one seen the spoiler bound trailer people would have been sitting on the edge of their seat's with adrenaline pumping through them as they saw explosion's and the awesome camera angle's as the pelican's dodged incoming fire and rocketed to earth.
All I'm saying is you need to just stop with any and all information pertaining to Halo 3 full stop. we do NOT need to know anything more then we already do, because the more you know the less surprised and awestruck you are.
you know, after reading your post I to feel in some ways Bungie are giving away to much about the campaign, and I totally get what you are saying about the whole scarab encounter, I think it would of been best to of not revealed or mentioned it at all until the game is realised and then we the player have the exciting task of taking it down, one thing that I thought was odd was how Bungie were openly explaining in the latest pod cast the best way to take it down and discussing tactics and AI behaviours and in general just giving away a few things that I would of liked to have discovered when playing it through, the only reason I can think of as to why they are revealing this much about campaign is that there must still be allot of cool stuff still not revealed ( I hope ) but with all the recent things they have shown us and written about in updates it almost seems as if they have shown as nearly everything, but I’m sure that’s not the case. The new trailer for example new trailer witch was practically like a compilation of game play footage and as I said I just felt (although it all looked great) a little concerned that it might give away to much. However I think in some ways Bungie has the most to prove in its campaign for halo 3 after halo 2, and is eager to show fans that may have been disappointed by certain elements halo 2’s campaign that this one will be on a much grander more impressive scale! Saying that though I can't wait to watch the huge explosion of hot plasma and scorched debris light up the screen on my 30inch HD Samsung as I finish off that beast of a covenant vehicle with a well placed rocket!!! From what I gather there is more then one encounter with a scarab In halo 3, so perhaps there will be more things thrown into the mix witch each fight that we don’t know about yet. Still think the game is shaping up awesomely though from what I have seen!
I have an idea if you dont want to see information or spoilers... how about you dont look for it? Stop coming to bungie.net, or ign.com, or listening to podcasts, or watching e3! Then you wont have to see any spoilers, or hear things about gameplay. From what i can see they havent been playing commercials on tv all day long, or plastered halo 3 everywhere in stores. They just now put out the soda... So to the normal person not looking for the game they would just now be finding out about the game, nothing would be spoiled.
Stop complaining when you can do something about it
Bungie is doing a great job, and im more then excited
