Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

He and a group of marines found a functioning pelican. Read a book.

The book first strike doesn't really tie in how Sgt. Johnson got off of halo because (if you beat halo 1 on legendary) there is a scene where he is fighting an elite, (with the pillar of autumn in the background) halo is about to blow up, he hugs the elite, etc. etc. There are about three seconds 'till halo blows up. There were no ships nearby in the scene, so there was absolutely no way to get off. The First strike says he got in a Pelican, but I can't see how, because there were no ships nearby. Oh well, I guess they couldn't think of a a completely flawless plot line.

Right..but Sergeant Johnson is invincible anyways, so who really cares how he survives we should be finding a way to take him out.

you too? double sigh...

that sequence has got absolutely nothing to do with the story. its only there as a reward for completing Halo:CE on legendary. how can that not be obvious? and if you have read the books, the only time an elite would touch a human would be to kill them. and finally, if you want the actual story, its the ending for Easy Normal and Heroic, they have the actual story ending.

A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.

Yeah, I've read the books and understand what you're talking about, I just think Bungie could stress there brains just a little to think of a funny scene that would go along with the plot line.

Isn't it obvious? He used the elite as an alien shield, being thrown clear of the blast and into space, where he survived purely because he's immortal. He was eventually hit by the Chief on the way home, so he picked him up and they went on their merry way. Honestly, simple logic.

Now where does the pelican come in to the story? (The pelican that he was in when the chief picked him up)

Took the words right out of my mouth. Johnson truly is invincible. Have you ever tried killing him in the H2 campaign?

For those who always go running and crying off to the books when proved wrong, you disgust me.

The story started in November 2001 with Halo CE the XBOX GAME. The books were never published until after, and they were inspired by the game.
I would trust the game on Legendary over the books any day.

In the first playable mission of Halo 2, Gunz (or h/e you say his name) asks Johnson how he "made it it home in one piece" as he was getting on the elevator with the Chief. Johnson responded:

"Sorry Gunz, it's classified".

If he escaped on a Pelican as it says in the book, why would it be classified?

Theres more to just the pelican escaping thing to how he got off halo. You would know that if you read the books. Remember when he was attacked by the flood in the video from Jenkins' helmet? He has a radiation disorder that cause the flood to not be able to match with his DNA and take over his body. The disorder is called Baron's Syndrome I think. The disorder is from throwing a whole crate of plasma grenades without protection like the MJOLNIR armor. On top of that they got some item/artifact from Reach. They also took a joy ride on a Covenant cruiser but that's not important :P.

actauly yes, me and one of myfriends on co-op bashed him through the whole first level on legendary (most of it anyway) so that he would kill all the covenant and save us a lot of work.

There was a man from Allentown who fed his son to death.
He calmly watched him gorge himself until his final breath.
And there he stood, surprised and shocked above his tiny frame.
He said: "I bear no blame for this. I only share his name!"

Well, you see, Sgt. Johnson is magic. /thread

My whole point was that even if he did manage to get in a pelican, he wouldn't have time to get far enough away from halo to not be destroyed (kaboom, bang, kapow, whatever you want to say) by the explosion's radius.
