i had surgery on my foot. after surgery they left it open so they could stuff it with gauze to soak up the infection. the cut was to the bone and they use a long q-tip to push the gaze inside. then after a few hours they would pull it out and stuff it again.

Edit- i was awke during all the gauze stuffing and the infection was from stepping on a nail

I crashed my mountain bike downhilling in Big Bear last summer. Tore open my knee pretty bad, down at the bottom of the hill the resort employee put on some rubber gloves, grabed the spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide and went to town on the wound. i would say the worst pain came after all the dirt was out of the wound and she proceeded to spray again on the fresh dermus and then give it one more good cleaning with the paper towel. i saw yellow stars.... ouch!

Reading Agent404's poetry.

Physical pain is fleeting, but mental anguish can scar you for a lifetime.

Oh, dis. Mine would be having surgery on both my toes twice. For an ingrown toenail. I won't even go in to the details.

been there, done that.... really is not that bad, just annoying having to soak the foot twice a day for two weeks.

Try this one.... Mountain biking again. Fell in some poisen oak, had a nice itching rash for THREE months. had to take sleeping pills to get through the night with out waking up and scratching... ended up sleeping with socks on my hand to keep from spreading the oils in my sleep... was worse than any injury i ever had. hands down.

Crashing my bike in my cold a sac. I fractured 3 fingers on my growth plates. My middle finger was fractured and broken, and I couldn't move it for a month after the surgery. So I was kinda stuck flipping people off for a while, but that was the only good part. Anyway, I think I had a total of like... 50 shots in my hand and wrist.... and in my chin during surgery and in the ER. Actually I think I still have a stitch in my chin that was never removed... o well.

Sunburns also hurt me a lot. Especially because I get really bad ones.

Women don't get to know TRUE pain unless they give birth!

You know how, when you fly somewhere, as the plane is decending, they change the pressure in the cabin? As a kid, some of you may recall the pressure this put on your head and ears. Or, you might remember babies crying during decent.

Just recently, as I fly, I've had this problem where the pressure is getting trapped in my sinuses. Those of you that have experienced it are wincing right now. Those of you that haven't, imagine feeling like a two or three inch wide and to the skull line down the center of your forehead has suddenly split WIDE open. The feeling is so real that you even reach to touch the spot on your head to feel for blood. Further, the pressure is pushing hard against your eyes, and you feel as though they're about to be squeezed out of the sockets. The only thing you can do is endure as the pressure slowly drains from your sinuses.

I know, I know. I'm trying to stay out of the sun as much as I can. How do I do this you ask? Simple: Halo, Internet.

A second degree burn on my right arm. Non-stop pain for 8 hours, think of having a sun burn, and then cooking that burn on a stove at low heat for 8 hours. Ya that's what it felt like. Oh, and don't forget the 6 weeks of afterburn. My arm looks fine now though, no scar whatsoever. odd....

Also, I have this long sheath-knife on my thigh, and i was riding down a hill on my bike. So the chain comes off and tangles with the spokes on my back tire, needless to say i crash and the knife goes through the sheath and into my left thigh at an agle and i see the knife poking out the other side of my leg. so i lay there in the road until someone stops and they call 911. There they remove the knife with me awake. all i remember is a rush of pain and me passing out from blood loss. They couldn't remove the knife with me asleep because they needed to speak to me throughout and other -blam!- reasons. Needless to say i have a huge gash on my leg.

Oh my god Shishka! I had that same problem when I was about six! My god, that was painful. I can still remember exactly how it felt.
Still not as bad as some people's grammar skills around here though.

I was playing cream the carrier, as a young boy, With Kids much larger than me, I mean i just got into middle school and these guys were in collage. Well I try to tske em out the only way i can, The legs. Well i managed to grab one and held on for dear life. As he was running as though i wasnt even there, he whipped me forward and stepped on my chest, somehow i still held on,(but it hurt like hell) Boy was that a mistake, He kicked me in the face and knocked out threee teeth and blackning not my eye but the whole side of my face. That was one hell of a shiner, And just between me and you guys... I cried like a -blam!-!

Actually the worst was when i hit my shin. I sat on the floor, "sssssssssssst ahhhhh, ssssssssssssttt ahhhhh, sssssssssssstttt ahhhhh,..................Ssssssssssssssssst ahhhhhhhhh"

O I hated that needle! It stung worse than anything. Well, last night I burnt my thumb on the oven. Theres a nice white line on my thumb. This was the worst. I was paintballing, and yes I was down for 15 minutes. I never wear a cup in paintball (the chances of getting hit are very slim, I just got lucky)and I've been paintballing for about 4 years. That was my first and hopefully my last.
