When it crashes, does it give you an error in your system tray about Data Execution Prevention? If so, you'll need to put it on the allowed applications listing of your DEP listing. I had it crash for the older version, for reasons of DEP. I've had DEP Errors when trying to open a saved Nero project IN NERO, so if a program is not developed by Microsoft, you may as well put it on your DEP listing just to be sure. Thank you Microsoft.
Control Panel -> System & Maintenence -> System
On the left side, you should see Advanced system settings, click that. If you've got User Account Control turned on, of course grant yourself access.
On the Advanced tab, click the Settings... button under Performance.
Go to the Data Execution Prevention tab, click the Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
Click the Add... button and navigate to where you've installed the 3rd Person Mod.
Click Apply / OK and then restart your computer.
P.S. I recommend turning UAC off, it's a big pain in the arse in my opinion. Located under Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts. Select your account, or if you're the only account on your computer, it will auto-select for you. On the main list, click Turn User Account Control on or off. Restart your computer. Ignore the security warning you get each time you turn your computer on, or simply go into Control Panel -> Security -> Security Center and click Change the way Security Center alerts me on the left side. Choose Don't notify me and don't display the icon (not recommended). If you have McAfee Security Center or Norton installed, this is a non-issue. If you don't have another security center application installed, you may not wish to disable alerts, however you will be nagged by Microsoft when you log in about turning UAC back on.
P.P.S. Thank you Microsoft for making our lives so much easier with Windows Vista! =D
