cja200 just hit the nail on the head. From a marketing standpoint (my major is Advertising / Public Relations), you would be retarded to release a sequal within a year unless you knew that the sales wont be there to sustain a hold on the follow-up title. Halo was still retailed at $50 untill around August '04 when it dropped a whopping 20 bucks......approximately 3 years after it came out. How many other games are still selling for $50 after 3 years on the shelves?
Microsoft has a veratible cash cow on their hands with the Halo series. Lest we forget that at the end of the day, this is a business. The happier the fans are, the more sales there are. Halo 2 is spectacular, which fuels the anticipation for the next installment, but where is the logic in rushing the process to make money if you turn out a sub-par product. Doing that only serves to erode your consumer base, and open the arena that much more for the competition.
Our fast food society has everyone wanting everything 'now'. Just be patient and play Halo 2.
Oh yeah............STOP WHINING about a game and a process you know nothing about.
