When it comes down to it, I think that vehicles don't play a big enough role as a safe haven to find that kind of use. The fact of the matter is, vehicles have a strategic advantage, but they are pretty much an explosion waiting to happen. Use them quickly, and get the hell off, becuase you'll be a quick kill. Of course, there are ways to use vehicles, but taking time to put extra weapons on a warthog isn't really worth it when one well placed nade turns all your work to crap and gives your enemy a kill. In campaign, shure.
I suppose heavy vehicles could come with weapons already in them, given the fact they are easier to keep alive. Then again, even that all depends on the player skill. Today I played 1 Flag on Terminal, and there were four rounds. Both rounds on D, I got the wraith and kept it, destroying all enemy vehicles, and splattering three people. I was also hit by two rockets in one game and managed to stay alive by positioning. Both offense games, I destroyed the wraith with a ghost. I guess I'm trying to make a point that vehicles are already an art in themeselves, and don't need to be complicated further.
