I'm using SLI GeForce 7300 GT x 2 (1024 MB combined) and they're working great with AMD Athlon 64x2 Processor (4800+) and 2 GB RAM. It's not always your video card as much as what it's got backing it up... but the card still has to be good. If you run that card with a Celeron and 512 MB RAM it won't amount to anything... without knowing the rest of what you have, I cannot give an answer.

Well judging by the processor, you're talking laptop... I never recommend laptops for gaming... but as far as specs go it is *qualified* to run the game... it's up to you.

Why not? The only reason that could possibly deter someone from wanting to use a laptop for gaming would be that they are not easily upgradable, and that's not really a huge deal. I have a last-gen laptop that I bought a few years ago, and it runs Halo 2 Vista at minimum specs smoothly.

It's an HP Pavilion zv6203cl.
Windows Vista RC2 x64 (I'm even using the Vista BETA software, and it still runs fine!)
AMD Athlon x64 running at 2.0 Ghz.
ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200 with 128MB decicated memory.
1024MB of RAM.
As I said, it runs H2V smoothly, so I'm sure the OP's PC should handle it fine. And yes, I'm planning on using the BETA until August 28th, at which time I'm not sure what I'll do. ;)

Why would you SLI those two cards? The money that went toward that could have bought a 7600 GT, which is way better than those two combined. Unless the computer was prebuilt.

256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7400 (vs.?) ATI RADEON® Xpress1150 256MB HyperMemory™ (Integrated)
i was sure the nvidia was better because it has half discrete, but since im already hear, tell me if im wrong

Both of those are integrated. They'll run horribly. I assume you are looking at laptops. If you want to buy a laptop for gaming, be prepared to shell out more than $1300.
Nvidia and Vista aren't exactly on good terms because of the drivers right now, but I'm sure the problem will be fixed soon. ATI has better driver support, but slower cards. It depends on what you're willing to spend though.

Scarlet... why would you get 2 7300's?? Why... *sobs*

And to answer ted.... The 7400 beats the 1150. But you're not going to have fun playing the game because you'll have a pretty bad framerate and it will look worse than the xbox. You say you'd be comfortable with minimum settings but once you actually experience them I think you might have a wake up call.
My advice? stick to the console until you can commit to a desktop or a 3k+ laptop if you want to play Halo 2. There's no point in spending extra for this card because it's not worth what you'll spend on it- it's intended primarily for videos, not gaming. Get a cheaper laptop and Civ 4 if you need a game.

Sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong. Pretty much any game can overpower 2 8800's (even Far cry mods. COH on max...). And very very few people have SLI'd 8800's.

May I ask what's wrong with the 7300 GTs? They perform excellently for me, I've got almost no problems. I realize I'll have to upgrade for Crysis and the like, but for everything I play, I can run high settings, high resolution, great frames per second.

I'm using a GeForce Go 7300 and I get medium settings with AA off. Go for something higher.

Sounds like the Go 7300 is a bad card, but SLI 7300 GT is amazing...

And AA is Anti-Aliasing, which gets rid of jagged pixels and makes the game look a LOT smoother.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

6800 is great too!

7950. Or if you want to do Directx 10 on a budget for when The dx 10 games roll out.....8600.

Idk if you can find that laptop though.

SLIing low end cards the worst idea you can come up with. A cheaper midrange 7600 would be a better idea.

It's not that there's anything wrong with them, per se. It's SLI'ing low-end cards. For example, for the same price, you could have gotten one High-end card that performed better. And if you wanted to SLI it later on when it was cheaper you'd have a much better performance per dollar than now. And you can never resell low-end cards, but that's kind of a moot point.
Hindsight is 20/20 but next build you get, don't SLI low-ends if you can help it at all.

I would get NVIDIA, do NOT get ATI, I have NVIDIA 8500, 7400 should be good for Halo 2 as well... Since minimum is around 6500....
Hope I helped even if I'm still late...
