--Anyone who talks smack, on the winning or losing team.
--People who have an orgasm every time they get a double kill.
--The overpowered overused battle rifle from hell (don't say it's not overpowered; chances are I'm about as good as you with it and I still think it's a terrible weapon).
--Spawn campers.
--The fact that there's no unranked TEAM SLAYER only matches (I'm sick of the same two matches OVER and OVER again, CTF BR on Warlock and BR Assault on Zanzibar.. terrible; I really only play Halo on team training now; splitscreen with my friends)
--Button glitchers.
--Betrayers.
--Suiciders.
--Derankers.
--When you go to assasinate someone and you keep bouncing off their back, causing them to finally turn around after 3-4 whacks to kill you.
--People who blame their loss on cheating and then leave bad feedback.
--Most of the people on the XBL Halo 2 community (Not you guys here at Bungie.net that I've never played with. I'm talking about the average game with average people; always trashtalk, teabagging, and those who say if you get over 10 kills you're using standby. (If you want examples look up Master Chief Sucks At Halo; those are the kind of people I'm enerally stuck with). I'm hoping Halo 3's will be more mature, less annoying, and not be -blam!-s)

All I can think of right now.

You try so hard to be wanted. False emotions tells u fronted. I think being a person relies on one thing. Be yourself let u come through
Your to afraid to really be

Playing snipers on Tombstone annoyes the -blam!- outa me. Not cuz its a bad map, but because it comes up so frequantly on the rotation.

1) Immature guys who trash talk me, harrass me, betray me or random friend request me just because I am a female (there are WAY too many of these!)
2) The parents/caretakers of very young children (like 12 and under) who allow them to play Halo
3) Cheaters/Modders/Super Bouncers (I snipe them down, even if they're on my team)/Button Glitchers
4) That &*(%^(*& blue screen!
5) Lag
6) Quitters (this is happening more and more often lately)

About the only thing that has ever annoyed me was 1 mem on my team that kept sniping me because i was an elite. i spent most that game getting shot from behind by him

Greatest of all time

Kids that tell me to "Screw a goat." ...........ew

and little kids in general, i don't care if they are noobs or not they have annoying voices.

Trash talkers suck. I refuse to stoop to their level. In the post game lobby win or lose, if they are talking smack i just say "good game" until they leave.

People that whine about all the trash talk that takes place during and after a game. Think about how boring the game would be if there wasn't any trash talk, get used to it you whining cry babies. It's what helps make the game fun.

Moo

1. Immature arguments between players before a game, followed by betraying and leaving in game
2. People who talk -blam!- after finishing you off after your shield is gone from someone you fragged
3. Having your spree ended by a fluke nade or betrayal

Trash talk only makes the game "fun" for the cretins that do it. I'm willing to bet that you have your XBL setting on "Recreational". Change it to "Underground" and smack talk all you want. It's people like you that make the game unpleasant for everyone else.

When most people play, they're looking for some friendly competition and enjoyment in the Halo universe. Not to have to listen to some jerk foaming at the mouth, when truth be known, is no more skilled than anyone else.

A lot of players who think they are hot -blam!- are going to get a rude awakening when Halo 3 evens the playing field.

FINALLY! Someone with common sense! Yes, I agree completely. Trash talkers are ruining the MM experience. I am not kidding when I say I probably have muted at LEAST 30-40 percent of everyone I've come across in matchmaking for this reason. Either they are as you say "foaming at the mouth" (god, I love that analogy lol) or playing "music" or singing or shouting or they have their mics down their throats while trying to talk. And also the ones who put their little brothers/sisters on the mic to curse or insult people and think it's cute...ARGH!

  • 08.23.2007 12:02 PM PDT

ok this may become a long post but i feel there are alot of things in halo 2 multiplayer that annoy me i will go in depth with all the problems with an analysis at the end

1. host advantage, because i live in england and most halo players live in america my latency is going to be alot higher than those in america, therefore almost every game i have i am not host, even worse almost 60-65% of the time i am on the opposite team to the host in team games, host advantage may not be as aparent to americans (ive never played or seen anyone play in america). alot of my melees, assassinations, and sword swings end up with me stopping short of the player, appearing the other side of the player and causing him no damage, or him meleeing me at the same time which always overides my melees. sniping, by the time ive seen someone and shot them acording to host they have already moved ETC and everything else that can be effected by host. i have a problem with sticky grenades due to host, almost every game i have i see grenades ive thrown at people go right threw them or them been in the explosion and it not effected them, but when im in an explosion even if i jump away i get killed in one, or i junp out of the way of the grenade a second before it still sticks me (i know i have arms i take them into account when moving)

2. overpowered power weapons;
- rocket launcher, the rocket launcher is basically an overpowered anti everything weapon, on small maps the rockets will move too fast to dodge, someone jumps round the corner 10 meters away your dead, the blast radius is very large for a weapon that is anti everything and this powerful it makes it even more imposible to dodge, also if were both in the air next to each other after hes shot a rocket why doesnt he die with me? why even have rockets on small maps like foundation, anyone half decent with the rocket launcher can easily kill people anywhere on the map that they can shoot at. on large maps its also an unfair weapon, it destroys most vehicles in 1 hit and has a super effective locking on ability, most maps with vehiles on dont really have much cover designed to cope with vehicles hiding from rocket attacks. its even easy, all you do is point it at a vehicle hod the trigger point it in a direction it wont hit any obstacles and then let go too easy for a triple kill (full warthog).

-sniper, the only thing i find annoying about the sniper is host (see above) but i can ussually overcome host with sharp eyes and cunning, but the main reason is its fast rate of fire, if the sniper misses there is no chance for the person to react in time if he is caught unaware, he gets 4 chances for the kill then and thats like 2 secs for the person to get to cover or attempt to shoot back but not really overpowered(except it is when it comes to smg spawns)

-plasma pistol, can take overshields off in one shot and all you need to do is hold the trigger and let go while aiming in an enemies general direction, then you can finish them off with your other weapon in a matter of milliseconds, the overpowering feature is its player following abilities rather than its shield damaging properties, hiding behind cover sometimes doesnt quite cover the needs of the time, take into account some tactics; plasma pistol someone theyre dead; plasma pistol someone but they go into cover, throw a grenade into hat cover theyre dead; ETC the grenade will kill them if they dont move and the plasma pistol will kill them if they do move(with secondary weapons fire or another grenade) so its a lose-lose situation. also sometimes going behind cover doesnt work against host PP

-sword, allows for quick beatdowns and 1 hit kills, catch someone off guard, theyre dead and if you get close enough to someone theyre dead, its only weakness is mid-long range combat, some people cant use it but those that can can be deadly with it, due to host and latency problems when i use the sword i always come up short or go through people, sometimes i catch a team off guard and get multikills but not often, the main problem here is it never runs out, host can have sword the whole game and own wih it because it wont run out.he also seems to have extra range but not the point right now, there is really no counter to it if theyre host and almost close enough to kill, they always kill me before ive seen them when i have shotgun.and my grenades always appear to go right through them (plasma)

3 glitches;
i dont care what you have to say about cheating they give people an unfair advantage that they would never get if they werent in the game.

superbounces- teams can get 5 points in the lead then all superbounce then wait around till the match is over and theyve won, when people superbounce they can see the whole map and destroy the balance that proper map layout gives, seeing the whole map for one when no-one can tell where outside the map they are also in oddball if someone bounces with the ball the match is basically already over, you cant kill him because hes outside the map and hes happily getting points for his team,

button glitches- these give people an unfair advantage but some people say that everyone can do them and that it adds to the game, i say if bungie had made sure the rockets wernt overpowered and the plasma pistol actually took skill to use there would be alot more diversity to game, vehicles would take skill to take out without rockets destroying them. they also say its fair because everyone can do them, but its not fair to the people who want to have fun or try out different things, i can use all the button glitches but i neither find it fun or rewarding, also due to latency and host advantage when i try to out BXR anyone they always win. i think alot more people would still be playing halo 2 if there were no glitches in it.

4. quitters, downlevelers and weapon betrayers,
i dont mind people that quit games for genuin reason like they have to go to the shop or for a meal or their house is on fire but i get fed up with poeple who quit after it says game over so that everyone whos left has to wait another minute or more to get rid of the blue screen, these people are always on the loosing team and i feel are worse than trash talkers, you can escape trash talkers by the B button when in post game lobby but you cant escape blue screen!!! people who wuit at the first sign of loosing also is very annoying, big team battle the constant people who quit after the other team as scored after the very first round. whats the point in downleveling? there is no point, its just a way for people to have easy games and play against people worse than them which is unfair to the people who want to get matched with people of their TRUE SKILL.its also frustrating when i get betrayed by someone because i have a sniper that they want, cant they live on game without the sniper? they dont care how good i am with the sniper they always think theyre the best, when quit frankly theyre not.

5. poeple and their advantages
the thing that frustrates me the most is the people who think that their the best at the game when all they do is use advantages against people that have no chance at then, EG people who think they own cos they use the easy combo (PP+BR) people who have host advantage and either shove it in everyones faces or doesnt know what it is and thinks everyone is making it up and using it as an excuse and anything like sword or tank whoring and anything like that

well thats all i can think of right now
in summary of what i hate;
-host advantage and everything that brings
-the few overpowered power weapons
-glitches and people who use them
-people and their continuous quiting
-people who betray people on purpose for their weapons because they know they can do it once without being booted
-people who downlevel, i mean whats the whole point in it? so you can prove your skills against low level instead of people you should be facing at your level?
-and finally when people think they are the best when they have an advantage over other people which they wouldnt have won without

That's a lot of whining. The only legitimate points I see you've made are host advantage and superbouncers.
Those weapons you listed are meant to be power weapons, they're not overpowered. I expect rocket launchers to kill in 1 hit and a headshot with the sniper rifle should do the same. Plasma Pistols are annoying but they can be beat if you know what you're doing. Host with sword sucks, but seriously you can counter it, you act as if it's invincible.
Quite frankly the people who are against button glitches are generally people who have less skill than those who don't care about them.
It's a multiplayer game, there are going to be jerks who delevel, quit, and betray. In halo 3 you won't have to put up with it as much due to the feedback system, but in general there are jerks in most online games.
The only true advantage people have are host advantage and sometimes superior spawns. That's it. Everything else is pretty much an excuse since you're on equal playing terms(Not counting bad teammates).

I'm not picking on you, Done DL, but your response is typical for someone who has a good connection. If you have a poor/marginal connection:

1. Rocket launchers will not always kill in one shot
2. Sniper takes two, sometimes three or more shots
3. Plasma pistol is useless because it won't track the target -- even if it's a straight shot
4. Plasma pistol can't be avoided or countered, because it has already hit you on the host machine before you see it

I think the main jist of the post you were responding to is the frustration a lot of players feel who have to accept latency when playing, myself included. The players who beat us generally think they have mad skilz, when in fact, they just have a better line. You do acknowledge host advantage, but sometimes it's more complicated than that. Sometimes I'm on host team (infrequently), yet still have a lousy connection and do poorly.

Too bad he was complaining about the power weapons being TOO overpowered. You just listed why it's not as powerful with weak connections, while his point was that the weapons were too powerful.

One of the main ways to counter weak connection/bad host is to play as if you were 1-2 seconds behind everyone. Meaning shoot where you think they will be, melee the person when you think it would actually hit a second or two away from now, etc.

Well, maybe he was complaining that the weapons are too powerful compared to how they perform when HE uses them. I completely understand what he's saying. You're looking at it from your point of view.

I understand your points about trying to anticipate where players should be, except another symptom of latency appears as a degraded frame rate. Things become too jerky and unpredictable to be able to do what you suggest. Latency isn't consistent enough to be able to predict with accuracy. Especially in melees, a degraded frame rate ALWAYS ends up in your demise.

Well from the way I'm reading it, he's just complaining about power weapons in general.

I've never suffered degraded frame rate, maybe it's just a 360 thing, like with Backwash. I know latency isn't consistent, but once you realize the general timing of it in each game, you should be able to adjust your play to it.

Derankers (Seriously, ranks don't matter that much to me, but it's just annoying when you're constantly losing points cause some dorks throwing gnades at his feet)

Lag (Nuff said)

Spawn Kills (Yeah, don't you just love it when you respawn right in front of an enemy/sniper spot?)

Don't really care for someone who starts bashing people soon as the game starts, cussing, just being rude. Not every body is a halo pro, people get mad when someone isn't good enough or uses a noob combo, noob combo or whatever u want to call it, its there to use, basically when trash talk gets a littly carried away.
