I remember earlier in the Halo 2 production during Frankie's weekly update, the phrase "Ridin' the Pickle" was mentioned. Anyone know what this might have meant?

I think they're talking about the Master Chief riding the bomb out of the airlock after the Cairo Station level. The bomb is shaped somewhat like a pickle.

It's the tracking lock for the RL. The reticle is lit (in the case of Halo 2, it turns red) when locked on, is called a "hot pickle" by pilots of attack aircraft.

Riding the pickle, is about rocket tracking. And I would imagine the sword tracking as well.

Wow, here I was thinking it was something else...(I can never seem to get my mind out of the gutter) Where did you find out that info, Recon?

Or it could be about the pic of the monkey riding the bomb in foundation? :)

I recall hearing/using it in an older flight sim, or hearing it from some Vietnam pilots that I knew. F-111 drivers. Calmest crazy people that I've ever met. Anyone who lets their plane do the flying at 100 feet just under Mach 1 is insane.

I could be wrong, but I am almost certain that pickling and having a "Hot pickle" were in regards to ordnance aiming and delivery.

Well, it does kinda make sense, albeit in a weird sort of way.

I think riding the pickle refers to master cheif riding the covenant bomb into outerspace.

You sir (Recon Number 54), are a truly dedicated fan. I salute you for taking your time to actually look through the weekly updates for that one particular piece of information and then apologizing for giving false information.
