id just like to start a thread about the IWHBYD skull. just list all the things u need 2 do 2 spawn the skull. i allready no bout the 7 checkpoints so dont bother about that. but do u need to do anything other than get 7 cps? ive been trying for ages and for sum reason i just dont get the seventh checkpoint when im waiting out side the room where the skull spawns. oh, and feel free to debate about the skulls effects and so forth.

I feel your pain. I've been trying to get that thing for a while. prolly 15+ attempts and nothing. Now, I've been told by a couple people on here and in articles online that it doesn't matter if you do everything right. True, it wont spawn if you don't do everything right, but even if you do, there is still only a one in seven chance that it will spawn. Good luck... to both of us. Past that I don't know what to tell you.

where is the skull and how do you get it?

  • 08.24.2007 6:32 AM PDT

"Veni Vidi Castratavi Illegitimos"

search youtube for halo 2 daddy skull, there are a couple of good walkthroughs on how to get it. also even when you do everything right you only have a 1 in 7 change of it showing up.
But when you do get it to show up, DON'T PICK IT UP, when you see it leave the room and run around till you hit another checkpoint, this will save the skull, otherwise if you pick it up and get killed by the elites you will have to redo it all over again to get the skull back, but if you hit another checkpoint after finding the skull it will stay there if you die.

lol! That would take about 10 pages of text. Look it up on the net for descriptions and then look video tutorials on youtube. Good luck dude.

man, a 1 in 7 chance? that sucks. just 1 thing, to get the last checkpoint do u actually have 2 run into the room where its supposed to spawn or , like one walkthrough said, do u hav 2 wait outside till u get a seventh checkpoint? a 1 in 7 chance? crap i have 2 do it seven times and hopefully itll spawn then.

I'm posting this LINK. It covers all the skulls, where and how, and even some suggested use.

Good luck and have fun!

I've have gotten the final checkpoint while waiting at the room, and before I actually got to the room. Depends on timing of checkpoints and where you are. Also, it may spawn the first time you try, it may not.... After you do it a couple of times, you get the feel of checkpoints and know whether or not you have the correct 7 checkpoints or not. At least it seems so, for me.

Edit - Also, unless you are just wanting the difficulty of fighting 28 elites, I suggest using the active camo glitch....it makes killing the elites so much easier!

It actually does not require a certain amount of checkpoints.
It can take as few as 2(the first at the beginning, and the one that spawns the skull), or as many as 20 to get it.
The only real requirements are

Legendary
Don't die(if you do, restart the level, not revert to last checkpoint)
Spawn the sniper alley jackals in the area where you would get IWHBYD
Then it's just a 1/7 chance for it to spawn.
You can be anywhere when the checkpoint that spawns it happens, and the skull can still appear.
It's recommended that you get a checkpoint while looking at the skull, so you can revert back while it's spawned and try several times in case you die.

Thank you for the link Shroom, I was about to dig it up.

which sniper alley? the one that has the bugger's and the camo elites or the one with the elites and grunts?

Go to youtube and type in IWHBYD skull easy way. that's the simplest way to get it. Just watch out for the waves of elites. Your better of getting envy skull first so you can turn invisible.

You bet Janube Taso....I can't tell you how many times I have sent a link for that thread to people who were truely interested in the skulls....for whatever reason. They have always thanked me....and I guess it's high time I passed the appreciation on to you. It is absolutely the best resource I have seen concerning the skulls.

I never understood why it wasn't stickied...at least in the threads of interest. Even though it's a locked thread....(which is probably for the best considering the amount spam it would draw)...I still think it should be added.

Alright, I've got something I've typed up before, I'll toss it in the salad here. Just a minute.

Edit:

All right, for starters, get the infinite camo cheat, not a glitch but a cheat, proud to say my cousin discovered that perm camo thing, and get it at the first checkpoint by the door of the pelican room where you're just about to see the little grunt who will run outside and bait you into a courtyard with jackals. Save, turn off the box, start it up again. Load the profile. Go get the blind skull without activating it, by running to the back corner of the room and grenade jump up and hold x. You should grab the skull through the wall. Now, there's that flickering light straight through the door. Jump up on it. Keep the skull with you all the way through this, until the fight erupts with the wall-hacking Elites haha. So facing the courtyard, do a 180-degree spin, and hang a left on that roof that keeps going in the same direction you would go if you were still walking out the first door. You'll find an invisible wall. Facing that invisible wall, you'll need to grenade jump up to the ledge on the right. You'll have to drop the skull and then pick it up before the frag blows its guts out. On that ledge, keep walking over until you have to jump to the rooftop across the alley with boxes that'll help you up if you fall down. Stick to the right on that roof and keep pressing forward, as in strafing right while running straight. This is the infamous shortcut of outskirts I've come to like. Anyhow, you'll have to jump a ledge that's made of some shotty graphics. You'll want to get on the building's roof so you can snipe at the jackals. Kill a few of them, get the pelican to come. You can get two checkpoints on this roof. Rack them up. More the merrier. Let the Marines get off the Pelican, they seem to help in getting checkpoints later during the fight. Jump down to the bride on the right of the alley. Jump up to the roof across from the one you were on, on the opposite side of the bridge. Now, don't rush over to sniper alley. You're going to want some checkpoints. Walk parallel to the bridge towards the center of the alley where the marines are. Now hang on that edge slowly. You should get a checkpoint before being able to see down sniper alley. If you get two, sweet. So snipe a jackal and then run back. across the roof, as you would have had to if you kept walking parallel to the bridge. Keep running. You should get a checkpoint between there and the corner. Get one in there, I don't care how long you wait. So at that corner hang a right and jump to the rooftop where you'll be able to shoot at the entrance to zanzibar sardine can. Shoot the elite with a full clip, it seems to help with the skull if you ask me. Don't shoot the grunt. That's just my opinion there, not much for proof on the zanzibar bit helping. Anyhow, keep following that roof, as in take the right turn it has in it. Now, you'll want to get the jackal sniper to spawn on the red roof to your right, whether you be on that roof, or you'll be on the one below you that you jumped to so you could get IWHBYD on the rooftop to its right. Kill the jackal sniper with a headshot. If you miss he'll probably kill you, even if you are invisible. No joke, I screwed up too many times learning the hard way. Okay, still holding the blind skull. Jump over to the IWHBYD patio and see what happens. If nothing, well try again.

If something, like a white flash and spawning with a plasma pistol, well then, you're set. Now the Marines from before seem to make checkpoints happen if they entered sniper alley before you ran off to get the skull. Oh yeah, you want them to try and get rushing down that alley. It'll help. Get a checkpoint while you're against the Elites hahaha. Now, kill them off wave by wave until you're in the wave with 7 of them dancing around waiting to chance on finding you. Kill off 6 of them, grab the covie sniper and sword by now, and then scope in on a headshot on the last elite and get a checkpoint. Just wait for it. It all depends on if you got the marines going down the alley, or so it's been my experience. When you do, save and quit.

Loading this profile after getting envy disclaimer:

You are warned. You will lose your active camo. You will be seen by the elites in camo out in sniper alley if you were dumb enough to sit in their view while waiting for the final checkpoint. You are screwed. Just kidding, you're really not. See, the final elite in the mini-game for the skull, he can't see you. Even after the camo fades off. I kid you not, I've messed with this. So headshot the Elite a few times. In the head of course. Now whip out your sword and kill him. It's that easy.
-If you try to be a hero and find that you can melee him a few times and he doesn't shoot at you still, be warned. He will draw his sword. He will chase you. He won't yell anything about killing the demon, he just chases you on a blind hunch of where you clearly are. He can follow your trails then. It seemed to me this didn't happen until the Elites in camo out in sniper alley saw me. He won't slash you until he is on your feet though, so you've got plenty of maneuvering options. No worries about losing the camo. That's all I'm saying.

Any more questions, pm me or Janube.

This video worked for me. This is probably the best out their i think. It also lets you SAVE THE SKULL like the others.
http://useruploads.mythica.org/view/IWHBYD-2.wmv.html

If you wanna win though...get the checkpoint and save the skull like at the end. The go back and build a barrier in the room across from where you spawn. Fill it with pp and br's. Run in their when you spawn and fite the elites from in their. Thats how i did it.

Yeah the post is long, but I originally sent it to T-mouse. Saved it because I wrote it about 5 different times and decide to just save it instead of taking 45 minutes to come up with it all the time. That skull is a piece of cake using that method.
