I'm really into military strategies and tactics, but the Sniper Rifle, being ridiculously amazing can still smoke me 9/10 times. Recently I've Devised a Simple but seemingly effective strategy. * BAM * If it's not a head shot, but one that drops you to one health bar, first reaction should be ... Duck then Run for the nearest Cover. OR Duck turn the direction of red arrow and hope he can't adjust in time to beat your Rifle to the Trigger.

Anybody have any better strategies besides the Zig-Zag, Which is usually childs play for Expert Snipers anyways.

The last man on Earth sat in a room, there came a knock at the door.

Service Record

Run in circles. The first time my little brother did that I wasted an entire clip on him. It's a one-time-use tactic but it gives you just enough time to run while your opponent is reloading.

when me and my friend play its constant for me to find shelter so i had my own idea which got him totally! I was on the snow level and i wanted to get from A to B a short distance appart but he had his aimer ready to shoot my brains out! So i decided to think for a sec and i noticed i had a grenade. Now i couldnt throw it at him because that would be suiside and it wouldnt reach him so...i chucked it at the ground! and when explosion came BAM i ran straight to the other side leaving him baffled because the smoke was in the way for a few seconds giving me a chance to get through. He didnt know what happened and as soon as he realised i'd gone...he was dead... :D i smacked him in the back!

Try this. Instead of circle-strafing, as you do to dodge an expert pistol, try running straight for cover. HOWEVER, make sure you just stop in place at RANDOM intervals. This throws a sniper off more than anything because when you are running he has to lead the shot, especially in Blood Gulch and Sidewinder. It's called stutter-stepping, and is the most effective method of dodging sniper fire while out in the open.

You can add the duck when you stop. But if he aims for your body, for an easier shot, the sniper might get lucky with a head shot.

If I know a sniper is there, or if he misses his first shot, 9 out of 10 snipers will not hit me with 1 more bullet. I hump the ground while they reload and start to dodge all over again just so they get angry and forget I'm part of a team ;)
