I'm trying to get the IWHBYD skull using infinite camo.

First I get the envy skull, then quit that profile.
Next I start up a profile on outskirts and active camo just before the very first save point.
Then I save and quit, then restart the xbox.
Now when I start the saved game, I have infinite camo for the rest of outskirts.

So I'm wondering...

If I run around doing all the things we all try to do to spawn the IWHBYD skull, and if the skull does NOT spawn, do I need to:

a) Turn off the xbox, and restart the same level again and try again?
or
b) Go back and get the envy skull again and re-do the inifinite camo setup?

What I'm trying to figure out is, if the skull doesn't spawn, how much of outskirts do I have to do again to get another shot at it? I'm wonder if the 1-in-7 chance of the skull appearing is determined when the level is started from the very beginning (not a check point) or if the 1-in-7 chance of the skull appearing is determined when Halo2 is first started up from the dashboard.

If it turns out that the chance of the skull appearing only occurs when the level is started (from the very beginning) AND you want to use infinite camo, then this means that if the skull doesn't appear, you'd have to turn it all off, and start again by getting the envy skull, then doing the infinite camo trick, then restarting the xbox again each time to try for the IWHBYD skull.

Has anyone been trying to get the daddy skull and was successful using the infinite camo trick WITHOUT having to get the envy skull again (by just restarting from the first saved checkpoint)? Did you have to restart the xbox each time you tried?

Thanks,
Bit.

I have several saves with perma-cammo on and if I don't get the skull to appear, I start over.

Just a minute, I'll get my tutorial loaded in.

Edit: All right, I'm glad you asked about it. So here's what I've written up. Any questions, feel free to ask me via pm if I don't reply to what's in the thread.

Make a profile for the IWHBYD skull to make it easier to get from now on.

All right, for starters, get the infinite camo cheat, not a glitch but a cheat, proud to say my cousin discovered that perm camo thing, and get it at the first checkpoint by the door of the pelican room where you're just about to see the little grunt who will run outside and bait you into a courtyard with jackals. Save, turn off the box, start it up again. Load the profile. Go get the blind skull without activating it, by running to the back corner of the room and grenade jump up and hold x. You should grab the skull through the wall. Now, there's that flickering light straight through the door. Jump up on it. Keep the skull with you all the way through this, until the fight erupts with the wall-hacking Elites haha. So facing the courtyard, do a 180-degree spin, and hang a left on that roof that keeps going in the same direction you would go if you were still walking out the first door. You'll find an invisible wall. Facing that invisible wall, you'll need to grenade jump up to the ledge on the right. You'll have to drop the skull and then pick it up before the frag blows its guts out. On that ledge, keep walking over until you have to jump to the rooftop across the alley with boxes that'll help you up if you fall down. Stick to the right on that roof and keep pressing forward, as in strafing right while running straight. This is the infamous shortcut of outskirts I've come to like. Anyhow, you'll have to jump a ledge that's made of some shotty graphics. You'll want to get on the building's roof so you can snipe at the jackals. Kill a few of them, get the pelican to come. You can get two checkpoints on this roof. Rack them up. More the merrier. Let the Marines get off the Pelican, they seem to help in getting checkpoints later during the fight. Jump down to the bride on the right of the alley. Jump up to the roof across from the one you were on, on the opposite side of the bridge. Now, don't rush over to sniper alley. You're going to want some checkpoints. Walk parallel to the bridge towards the center of the alley where the marines are. Now hang on that edge slowly. You should get a checkpoint before being able to see down sniper alley. If you get two, sweet. So snipe a jackal and then run back. across the roof, as you would have had to if you kept walking parallel to the bridge. Keep running. You should get a checkpoint between there and the corner. Get one in there, I don't care how long you wait. So at that corner hang a right and jump to the rooftop where you'll be able to shoot at the entrance to zanzibar sardine can. Shoot the elite with a full clip, it seems to help with the skull if you ask me. Don't shoot the grunt. That's just my opinion there, not much for proof on the zanzibar bit helping. Anyhow, keep following that roof, as in take the right turn it has in it. Now, you'll want to get the jackal sniper to spawn on the red roof to your right, whether you be on that roof, or you'll be on the one below you that you jumped to so you could get IWHBYD on the rooftop to its right. Kill the jackal sniper with a headshot. If you miss he'll probably kill you, even if you are invisible. No joke, I screwed up too many times learning the hard way. Okay, still holding the blind skull. Jump over to the IWHBYD patio and see what happens. If nothing, well try again.

If something, like a white flash and spawning with a plasma pistol, well then, you're set. Now the Marines from before seem to make checkpoints happen if they entered sniper alley before you ran off to get the skull. Oh yeah, you want them to try and get rushing down that alley. It'll help. Get a checkpoint while you're against the 31337 Elites hahaha. Now, kill them off wave by wave until you're in the wave with 7 of them dancing around waiting to chance on finding you. Kill off 6 of them, grab the covie sniper and sword by now, and then scope in on a headshot on the last elite and get a checkpoint. Just wait for it. It all depends on if you got the marines going down the alley, or so it's been my experience. When you do, save and quit.

Loading this profile after getting envy disclaimer:

You are warned. You will lose your active camo. You will be seen by the elites in camo out in sniper alley if you were dumb enough to sit in their view while waiting for the final checkpoint. You are screwed. Just kidding, you're really not. See, the final elite in the mini-game for the skull, he can't see you. Even after the camo fades off. I kid you not, I've messed with this. So headshot the Elite a few times. In the head of course. Now whip out your sword and kill him. It's that easy.
-If you try to be a hero and find that you can melee him a few times and he doesn't shoot at you still, be warned. He will draw his sword. He will chase you. He won't yell anything about killing the demon, he just chases you on a blind hunch of where you clearly are. He can follow your trails then. It seemed to me this didn't happen until the Elites in camo out in sniper alley saw me. He won't slash you until he is on your feet though, so you've got plenty of maneuvering options. No worries aobut losing the camo. That's all I'm saying.

So there you go. I'm really glad somebody is looking into this kind of stuff still.

You can learn from this you know. Ignorance is bliss until the pain ensues.
