Communication is almost a lost art. Usually a decent team with good communication can win over a "skilled" team with no communication. I have been on very good teams that were so used to playing together that communication didnt make much of a difference, but yes its important. When communicating, you need to convey the following:

Where the are
Where they are going
What weapons they have
Are they hurt?
What your team is going to do.

If you are getting double teamed, then you need to work on two things.

Finding a better team
Awareness.

What do you do when the other team calls out your location in the game?
Well I've been playing Team Hardcore and everytime I here the other team calling out locations I usally get double teamed or a rain of grenades at my location on the map.
How do I avoid this crap and try to kill them and get the other team off track and make them play like crap.
I tried to move to another location on the map but it only works 50% of the time.
Is communication with your teammates that important or is it your grenade skills and headshot skills?
Or getting alot of kills?

If you hear the enemy call out your position then you really have to make a hasty retreat!, because your garanteed that at 2 people will be nading / moving in on your position if you stay in situ.
As Brock said communication is so important especially in game types with no radar as your / and your teams eyes then become the radar calling out enemy postions / what weapon they have is vital and will win you a shed load more games than 4 people playing rumble pit against a team of 4.........

Communication is the key to a horrible defeat or an outstanding victory. Connunication is "especially" important in skirmish games, where not only are you being shot at, but you have to accomplish a goal as well. Please players, when you go into team games, remember to talk to your team about the game. Let them know when and where you see snipers, what vehicles you notice the other team has, if and how many of, the other team are in the base (in CTF and Assault games). It is appreciated if you help your team by listening to them also. If someone says "please pick up rockets" if they're in a vehicle, do it. Don't tell them to "do it themselves" or my favorite: "shuddup noob, dont tell me what to do!". If you see someone stationary in a Gauss Hog in the gun, do not just assume they want to be driven...ASK. They may be using a strategy that you don't know about. Talking in a game means talking ABOUT the game - not about the last game you played, or trying to "mac" on the girls that may be there (chances are you will be sniped while trying your best to follow her). Let your team know when you've killed the sniper, or downed a vehicle that is especially harrassing. Correct and constant communication is just as important as skill. I have even seen not-so-skilled players win matches because they worked as a team and stuck together.

Abandoning your position is foolhardy. You just need to make better decisions and have a better team. Let me give you a senario that may help.

Youre playing MLG on Midship and you control Pink 2. Your team is just getting total map control and all of a sudden, you get rushed by two people comming up the street from their base. You have a few options in this situation, but lets just say that you decide to fall back to your base and run away. You may have survived, but you just gave the other team the absolute most important part of the map and possibly may have completely changed the dynamic of the game.

You could have dropped nades on them keeping them from getting into P2 until a teammate could help you, you could have wall glitched and killed at least one while wounding the other also. You may have died in the second option but your teammate can easily get control back since you actually did some fighting.

I hate seeing "good players" make crappy decisions. Having skill sometimes means having balls. There is a time and a place to run, but not at the expense of giving up map control. If you dont have control or you are not in an advantageous spot then just do your best to survive. Running toward your teammates while strongsiding usually will keep you alive long enough for them to help you and if the other team is stupid enough to chase, you may can rack up some kills in the process.

If your playing slayer and and enemy calls your position out i'd say it fool hardly to stay, holding the positon if its a tactical area is one option but if a team want clear pink 2 out they will.
Another idea would be to start backing up and letting your team know that there ar "2 on you" map control can be regained a kill against your team cant be recouped, but the correct course of action will change given every situation that occurs in the game.

Depends on the situation. If I'm stuck in P2 and I know I'm gonna get rushed I'm going to stay there because chances are my position is already called out and the enemy may have me covered from multiple angles.

More or less though, I agree with you. Communication is so crucial to victory. As Kevin said, it's more than calling out where someone is, you should call out if he's weak, where he's going to go, what weapon (if he has a power weapon) he has, etc.

Good call Iceman, It really all depends on what going on. As I said earlier, decision making is every bit as important as communication.
