I'm not too sure about the first update, but I'm fairly certain that it was intended to fix some of the balancing issues with weapons.

The last update reset ranks, and was intended to implement the new maps into Matchmaking. The maps part went sour, and what ensued could be described as a gruesome train wreck of sorts. As I recall, many people began getting errors with the maps, and other things of that nature.

After those issues were all cleared up, there was another, smaller update that installed the maps into Matchmaking.

The first one was a huge change. Sticky nades blew up earlier, the pistol was weakened, ranks were reset, a type of cheating called dummying was taken out and some other stuff.

The latest two (out of 5 total) updates are as follows:

Auto-Update 4

(July 20, 2005)

* Included solutions to the rampant use of modded content to enable cheating on the downloadable maps included in Bonus Map Pack, Killtacular Pack and Maptacular Pack, so that any players found cheating will be permanently banned with "no appeal process." This stands for Matchmaking and Custom Games.

* Addressed a bug on the multiplayer map Relic, that allowed players to reach a locked teleporter by crouch jumping.

Auto-Update 5

(April 12, 2007)

* Changed the game's version number displayed on the title screen to "1.5".

* Enabled the game to recognize Blastacular Pack.

* Enhanced existing Banhammer functionality.
