I do it for Ada

I have returned

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but it really annoys me that a poll name takes over a thread name. Is this a glitch or was it intended?

I think that it was unintended, but it has real benefit.

By making the poll question the post's subject line, it allows members to see the question and avoids a lot of bait and switch polls.

Then why have a subject line for polls in the first place?

So that when a member goes into a thread, because they want to take part in the poll but they aren't sure what it's about, the subject line will tell them.

Because they are an extension of threads. All threads must have a subject line.

Here's the scenario of the alternate method, if the subject line for the poll were not the poll question.

I could make a poll and entitle the thread it "Are you a good gamer?" And then for the actual poll ask "well are you?" with a yes and no answer.

30 people respond to the poll answering yes and posting that they agree.

I then edit the subject line (because subject lines can be edited, poll questions cannot) to read, "Are you a momma's boy?" The poll question remains "well are you?" and the results show that everyone loves their mom.
I am totally doing that!

I see no problem with this.

I'm pretty certain it was intended, and it was a good move, too. Stupid polls that don't relate to your post, or are just spam, get pushed down quicker since people go "Wow, that's really stupid. I'll ignore that."
