While there was somewhat infinite possibilities for any custom theme in the groups, you usually needed to be pretty good at art or digital art to make a decent theme that was truly custom. Now, with the addition of the new screenshot feature for Halo 3, we could have hundreds of thousands of millions of great shots suited for theme creation. People could even sift through all of campaign to find precise shots for just theme images (im one of those low lifes, lol).

I personally think that implementing a Admin control tab in the groups with the ability to change the basic text/background colors and the images used to create the bulk of the theme would really enhance the group's potential. If needed, I can find my large and detailed description of a working system that would do just that.

In order for the theme to be well done, the screen shot would still need to be tweaked a little in photoshop. It still takes some artistic skill to make the shot good enough to be accepted as a theme.

True, but this feature makes it all that much easier to access. If people want to theme it on... say Forerunner architecture, then they can take as many pictures as they want and just add a blue opacity layer over it. If they want a grunt theme, than just cap some grunts around the corner. With this, it is extremely easy to get high quality images with little effort.

Which is why i suggest a button on the group admin page. This button would set the group into a queue of other groups which are waiting for approval by a number of group monitors, who will either allow or disallow a group depending on the theme's content. If they disallow, then a message will be sent to the groups creator notifying them, as well as with the approval process.

I like the idea, but I have a hard time thinking it would actually be implemented. =[
